Razer tests the waters with Project Fiona at CES

This would not replace a laptop for portable PC gaming. As for tablet gaming in general, I just want some sort of cradle for the iPad, or better yet, robust bluetooth gamepad support built into games in general.

In defense of Xenogears

Jan 9th 2012 7:47PM (Joystiq)
I played Xenogears until the end, reached a point where beating the last boss would've required a lot of leveling, never got around to grinding. While I didn't beat the game, I enjoyed the mature story a great deal, smirking at how it would rip off other sci-fi such as Soylent Green. Great sound track as well.

Starhawk dev rethinking DLC strategy: It 'might be surprising'

Jan 9th 2012 7:41PM (Joystiq)
I wanted to like Warhawk. There seemed to be a fine line between those who could fly, and those who couldn't. And by fly, I mean stop and start erratically like a mosquito with missiles. I had these visions of flying around in VTOL aircraft that behaved semi-realistically, where there's an amount of inertia to your jet. What I experienced was a kind of FPS in the air that sorta felt like flying. I also got owned pretty badly on most servers. Even if I had managed to master the stop on a dime and go flight style, I wouldn't have cared for it.

I'm hoping that Starhawk doesn't tread down this same path, but figured it would. However, it seems like some Warhawk fans aren't happy with Starhawk, and I wonder if this has anything to do with changes (if any) in how fighters maneuver?

On the subject of DLC, if it's a multiplayer game, the DLC must be free if it affects gameplay at all, e.g. maps, expansions, etc. Otherwise I tend to play a game until paid DLC comes out and disrupts the community (I dropped Killzone 3 like a rock once map packs came out). DLC that affects things like how a player looks, sure, charge for that.

Bethesda settles all Fallout IP related lawsuits

Jan 9th 2012 7:31PM (Joystiq)
Was Interplay doing anything with this IP? Does anyone honestly think that if they had, it'd come close to what Bethesda has done? The people who made Fallout don't work for Interplay anymore.

Do not eff this up Firaxis.

Aliens: Colonial Marines special edition spotted

You'd think that there'd be more to military tech in the future other than a pulse rifle, flame thrower and power loader. I already have a been there done that feeling toward this game.
