New iPad announced, features 2048 x 1566 resolution [update: pricing and availability]

@OrangeGamer
So you're saying they should somehow go back and upgrade your old tech with higher res displays and faster processors that weren't even created on paper when you initially bought said devices?

They had to abandon the number system sooner or later, so why not now while it's still young. iPad 12 would be a pretty dumb name.

I bet the computer you're using looks very similar in form factor to its predecessor. And I'd also bet you choose your current computer more on its capabilities than its looks.

Even more relevant is the fact that if we all boycotted Foxconn products, all these workers would then have no job at all and would die from starvation. In fact, a lot them send some of their money back to their rural families, which is the only thing keeping a lot of people in rural areas from starving as well. The fact that people come from neighboring provinces clamoring for jobs when Foxconn is hiring shows that that work opportunity is welcomed compared to a lot of the other options thanks to a horribly corrupt Chinese government.

But no, you're right, we should blame Apple!

The iPad (or tablets in general) are undeniably great for certain tasks compared to smartphones or laptops, such as:
- best for on-screen drawing apps (phones are too small and you can only draw on a screen on a computer with a cintiq, at which point we are talking about a completely different price range)
- e-reading (phones are too small and laptops are too inconvenient for on-the-go reading)
- legal documents/digital signature capturing
I'm sure there are more, but these are just off the top of my head. It's also comparable to the other devices for most basic tasks that compromise 99% of computer usage. To act like their aren't niches for each device that then define which device is best for an individual is to be willfully ignorant. As much as it may surprise you, your individual tastes and preferences do not define the entire consumer electronics landscape.

Flash does not work for touchscreen devices.

Remind me again how mouseOver events work in a touchscreen environment? Oh, you'd have to redo your user interface entirely in order to get your Flash app working properly for touchscreens? At that point, it's not much worse to just rewrite it in HTML5/CSS and future-proof it.

Otherwise, you're just porting video playback functionality and flash is just a glorified container at that point anyway, and serving the underlying video file in a different format is trivial as well.

All this crying about flash is dumb, as Adobe themselves realized it wasn't the future for touchscreens and have abandoned it themselves.

All that video needed was more dubstep to complete the CODversion!

I'd give up the BR for them to leave out the unlockable progression system. The level playing field has always been the best part about Halo, since gunfights were always decided by skill, not by who'd dedicated 1/3 of their life to unlocking shit nor by who'd JTAG'ed their Xbox. So long Halo multiplayer...
