So from your logic you want these games sold for a Cheaper price, but ALSO want the trade in credit higher.
What happens when company wide, Trade dollars given exceed used sales? thats called taking a loss. Gamestop is a business,who has to record profit in order to..well..do anything.

I one time traded in a copy of super paper mario, 5 months after release and got 42 dollars for it using a "gasp" Trade promotion.

It is called Research, do some.
In theory the companies merged, however it was more of a buyout then a merger, with GS buying EB.

It was a merger where each companies best ideas were used (say for instance store creidt, cards for EB..paper slips for gs)

I like how people dont look at the big picture.
A. business costs. Itll cost the average store...say 80-100 a year in printer tape a year.
100 x 5000= 5 milliona year in printer tape.

ok there is ONE inventory item. One. Take into the fact that people will steal items from hundreds if not Thousands of stores a DAY. and we have thousands of inventory items from plastic bags to product bags, bag toppers, shipping costs with ups (on average 4-10 boxes per store a day)...etc..etc...etc.....

working at a gamestop I see what the % PROFIt is afteroperatign costs, product costs and payroll and shrink loss. It is Not what you might think.

Also keep this In mind: I Would never have preordered nor would I Buy Fear 2..Brand new./ giving 60 dollars to the dev.....if we didnt have a used fear 1. because tbh i wasnt spending 60 bucks on a game...i didnt know if id like. Same with madden 09. I played 06 and told myself ea can suck a nut....I bought 07used, and felt it was decent enough to warrant 08..and then 09 NEW.
Again, used sales brought upon a greater # in new sales.

As a GS employee, I can tell you this info didnt hit until today. meaning people who have been working since 9am tryign to make sense of their stores from the holidays, have no way of knowing about this information.
in 1-2 days, proper info will be sent from our corporate offices including dates and what not.

Or they are trying to thin the online downlaod market and not crash (I.E. Probably a large demo in terms of gig size).

A demo is for whoever they feel should play the demo. your not "entitled" to anything but the game if youpay $60. Free demos, giveaways...all nice gestures by these companies.

This is a marketing ploy by sony, not gamestop.
gamestop doesnt make any preorder bonus. Sony is trying to gauge what the demand will be like, so they dont over print and lose $ such as with LAIR. Preorders are usedto gauge demand.

i think it is kind of nice gamestop is showing some personality now. the world of warcraft: WOTLK comment was funny.
Most places dont even try and show some personality. But again most of you will bash them for anything ( i remember bashing for their make a wish program christmas store shopping sprees)



I play all types of games but I just dont see anything in GTA4 that would really interest me. *shrug*

could just be me but i have never seen a multiplatform game bundled in with any game system.
