I never played any game but duck hunt. It was a fun game though.

Just how scarce is Rock Band?

Nov 21st 2007 4:14PM (Joystiq)
I'm totally having problems with it. I think the power cable isn't working. I plan on buying a nicer powered USB hub at Fry's tonight so I'll have no problems rocking out with friends while the turkey cooks.

Is Halo 3 suffering from disc read error syndrome?

Oct 1st 2007 3:56PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I used to get a lot of disc read errors for another game I had. I learned a trick that shouldn't work, but it does. When you start up your 360, always open and close the tray before playing. Ever since I started doing that, I haven't had a single disc read error. Strange, but true.

Wii Fanboy Giveaway: Super Paper Mario

Jun 28th 2007 3:39PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I really want to play this game. Unfortunately, I think Pokemon and planet puzzle league is taking up too much of my time for SPM to be worth a purchase. It would make a great wedding present though! (doing the deed on 7/7/07)

Wii Warm Up: Channels

Jan 22nd 2007 11:45AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I just got my Wii yesterday. My fiancee loves the Mii Channel. That's all she wants to use. It was fun creating them, but it's even more fun seeing the Miis show up in Sports and Wario Ware.

I don't think it's the best game, but it's the one I play the most. NCAA Football 06

'Wii' stumped: the mystery of the optical sensor

Jun 14th 2006 5:03PM (Joystiq)
I think it's been pretty well covered here, but to summarize:

The controller itself senses rotation, the optical sensor if for position relative to the TV. So, if the wiimote moves left or right, forward or back, up or down, all without rotating, only the optical sensor can pick that up accurately.
