I have a HDDVD for X360 as well. It's a great deal. heh, well I was able to get $55 off at circuit city about a month ago so I got it for $145 which includes the $20 movie I hadn't seen.

I think the best think to do is by the HDDVD and then rent movies through netflix. They have almost all the movies that are out on HDDVD.

For purchasing I dont see much I want all though I'm a fan of Firefly so Serenity in HD might be keeper

I have not seen any demoonstration yet that requires two people to have a wiimote AND a nunchuk attachment. So pick up one extra wiimote (without nunchuk) and you'll be set for most games. Tennis seems to be the only game that would make use of four wiimotes (without nunchuck) so I plan to have a friend come over with his two wii controllers when we want to try that.

Lets see... $40 for a bluetooth wireless remote with motion sensors, rumble, AND a speaker builtin. That's expensive?

Nintendo is not losing money on this console. They want to capitalize on those who want at launch and for their kids for Christmas. They are a company and a company wants to make money so I dont blame them. I think the price is doing that without gouging. Remember they have lots of room to drop in price as the price to manufacture drops.

x360 came with only one controller and no games at a price of $300 is still more expensive.

Why make a controversial ad for a change in the outer-casing color of a two year old product? Pathetic.

DS has the upper hand from what I have read and I see a lot of innovative games coming out for the DS. What have I heard about the PSP? Oh yeah, the PSP movie disc fort is failing horribly. Way to go, Sony, for trying to use the PSP platform to sell Sony Movies and FAILING. Next failure up? Why it's the PS3 which overpriced to force Blu-ray down our throats. Predictions?

I dont want Sony to die; I want them to be a equally strong competitor to Microsft and Nintendo, but they have to first stop treating the consumers like we are their b**ch.

I dont have any love for any of these companies or products. With that said...

I a becoming more and more upset with Sony. Root kits, Poor customer service in their MMOG hosted games, over pricing the PS3 just to ram their DRM-ridden Bluray drive down our throats, and finally for stealing the controller idea from Nintendo and making it seem like it was original. Their conference presentation was a joke. If they cant put on a good presentation, how am I supposed to feel them implementing a console and supporting it? What happened to Sony?

Nintendo didnt invent motion control since that has been around for a quite a while now, but they are innovating by making it apart of the basic console. That is huge; developers know that if they develop a game to make use of motion control that EVERY Wii will have it. Add-on specialized controls can fail because nobody develops for it BECAUSE developers cant bank on that add-on controller being available. That is the difference; that is the innovation; this is the gamble.

Sony stole the idea of including motion control in their basic console package. If it wasnt for Nintendo, Sony would not have included it.

Sony sux. With that out of the way; I predict the Xbox360 and nintendo are going to gain considerable market share but Sony will dominate. The PS3 has a high price tag but more raw horsepower for the end game.

What I mean by the last statement is that in three years time the PS3 will down in price due to cheaper parts and mass production. Better SDK from Sony to make it easier to developer for PS3 (right now its much easier to developer for the Xbox360 AND port to PC). In three years the xbox360 will start to show its age so PS3s cabailities will look better and better in comparison. Also 1080p might actually be around (almost all of the currently availble 1080p televisions DO NOT accept 1080p input; they line double 1080i input. It's true!)

Questions...will Sony stick to their 7 year release cycle of consoles or produce every five years like Nintendo and Microsoft. Does Microsoft have some kind of software upgrade planned to make the xbox360 DX10 capable (remember they define what dx10 is and could have leaked info to ATI ahead of everyone else)? What else does sony have planned. How effective is Microsoft be in leveraging Windows Vista against the PS3.

There is a lot not known but for me I know I dislike Sony a great deal for jacking up the price just so they can ram the HD drive down our throats!!!!
