I highly advise against picking up one of these, unless you are gushing over the color.

Reason being these use the new Samsung screens that are generally lower in quality in a variety of areas than the original Sharp screens that were used in the initial product run.

Issues I have observed between my Euro Onyx and a new US RedBlack - slightly yellower touchscreen, reduced viewing angle, and very noticeable ghosting.

Carmack and id are one of the few groups that can actually create graphics technology to compete with DX10.


One benefit of their engine, is that it is not bound and gagged to DX10 hardware and Vista software.

I recommend reserving any comments on how it looks until you see a proper demo.
