Sparse The Last of Us story details emerge

I definitely agree with what you are saying! The trailer does seem really interesting and i'm sure i'll get this game when it does come out but I can't help feeling like such prominent company could have done better by trying something different. I think we could do with some more variety among video games.

Sparse The Last of Us story details emerge

Man this looks and sounds cool, but I couldn't help but feel a little off put at the serious, gritty coldblooded look of the game.

As games get more and more realistic it begins to disturb me a bit. I've been playing violent games since I was a kid but I can't help but have mixed feelings about how gratuitous games are becoming.

I hope Naughty Dog isn't just making this a senseless over the top violent game (which i don't really image they are.) I'm sure it will have a strong narrative to support the level of violence... I just can't help but point out how as things become so real, it's kind of disturbing to play out these hyper real events.

Anyone else feel the same way ?

Vagrant Story re-told on PlayStation Network tomorrow

WHOO! can't wait to play this on the PSP (again actually, ripped my legit copy year ago to play on my PSP.) Time to buy this game now for the 3rd time. But i have to say i still think it's worth the money!

Shift Extended trailer explains the game in plain black-and-white

Nov 25th 2010 9:26AM (Joystiq)
hmm... check out the free flash game Continuity. It's not the same thing, but i think it's a lot better than this looks. http://www.continuitygame.com/

It's also kind of sad how bad the animation is in Shift. And it's not like there are that many cycles they need to do (it looks like 3, run, jump, pose.) The original Prince of Persia, which is 20 years old, had better animation.

Oh well, interesting idea at least.

How-to 'everything' videos coming to PS3 XMB

@Geo Holyhart
My thoughts exactly. I like the XMB layout but it does feel really dated. I think it could use a face lift, if not a complete redesign.

Nathan Fillion wants Nathan Drake role in Uncharted movie

Oct 12th 2010 11:37PM (Joystiq)
Wow great poll!*

It would have been nice to see a serious poll. One where the results meant something.

It does appear that Fillion has the popular backing however (at least from Joystiq readers.) So I know i'm not going to get any praise by saying this, but i really don't think Fillion fits the role. I for one hope they find someone else. I mean no offense toward his fans or his acting, I just don't think he could pull of playing the role of Nathan Drake. I guess we will all just have to wait and see what the studio decides on. ...Hope they make the right call and that the movies is good!

Just too bad Joystiq only feels like reporting there opinions and making of rhetorical polls!

* Sarcasm : )

Lara Croft exclusive to Xbox Live Arcade for 'exactly' four weeks

Jul 19th 2010 11:22AM (Joystiq)
I really wish that in this day of age of digital distributed games that a person could simply purchase a license to a game and play it on what ever system you wanted!

I would really like to be able to buy this on steam (for the PC) but also be able to play it on my PS3. I know this wouldn't work for all games, especially disc based games. But for digital games at least it would sure silence a lot of bickering over what system you will buy and play a game on.

Timed exclusives could still exist if company's wanted them but once it was available on another platform, you would have bought the license and could play it on whatever system it was available on.

I'm sure some people will criticize this saying, why would you need a game on multiple systems, but why not? I for one like to play my games on the PS3 but I often am away from home with my laptop so i buy some stuff for the PC that I would rather play on the PS3... I'm sure plenty of people would utilize this option if it was available.
