Does anyone really think there isn't a partnership still in effect, even though the Yahoo! dabacle is putting a strain on it? I don't think so. It just goes to show that picking up a check is certainly better than telling the whole story - even though making up fud-based headlines is much more fun!

May 20th 2008 6:18AM (Joystiq)When it comes to action oriented games, fps is more important than resolution. BUT, when a company (Ubi, I'm looking at you) starts going off at the mouth making statements which are just out and out lies - it gets people upset. The big fiasco here is HAZE only runs at 30fps at a lower res than promised. THAT is inexcusable. Although Sony isn't at fault, it just gives the fanboiz ammo - and that hurts the industry. Why? Because it creates bad blood between people who have something in common, namely a love of good games. This matters to me, since I've been gaming for too long. (Is 32+ years too long?...) Yet, Killzone 2 appears to be taking the right approach in this aspect - but only time will truly tell. Honestly, I'm not surprised HAZE is like this at all considering it's development history. The one thing I can say in it's favor is split screen co-op was fun. I'll still choose Singstar over this one though - mainly because we all act like asses when we get together to play the PS2 edition. It's one of many reasons why I bought a PS3 (including MGS, LBP, FF, et al). Most people consider me a fanboy, and that's okay. I don't care what people think of me. But consider this: When I bought my PS3 from Circuit City, I was asked 4 times by the people working there if I was insane. No, I mean literally if there was something wrong with me. Ever since then, I've been rather angry when I hear anything that even remotely resembles fud. It makes me angry that a 17 year old cashier didn't want to cash me out. It makes me angry when I hear a 22 year old boxboy ask me if I would like him to call my chauffeur for me. I love my gaming, and I don't need to hear this crap or get asked to move aside in line so someone can cut in front of me BECAUSE I'm buying a PS3 game instead of another type. This happens at multiple merchants in different cities. All true gamers should be appalled. What's going to be next?...
