@MadJoe My thoughts exactly

Android 2.1 for Droid Eris leaks out

Mar 4th 2010 2:59PM (Engadget)
@rdunseith - It comes with a YouTube app preinstalled but still seems to have some issues with playing many videos. I don't think much has changed. Hopefully Adobe will stop trying so hard to get on the iPhone and embrace Andriod and fix the problems we have.

Android 2.1 for Droid Eris leaks out

I installed it last night. Works great just be careful about using backup programs because when you copy the old stuff to the new system, it can screw things up like your contacts in gmail and the built in widgets.
You won't be able to find copy protected apps in the market because this particular build of the OS is not in Googles system yet and might not be until the official word comes from Verizon.
The only program I have found not to run is Google Earth but from what I read, it doesn't work too well on the Moto Droid. Everything else runs as good if not better then before. I highly recommend the upgrade

@zelannii You show me an idea that that Apple came up with first, and I'll show you someone that actually did it before them. Same goes for MS.

@Jack I'm betting that half of Apples patents can be found in products made before the patent was applied for therefore making the patent void. And the other half apply to other systems and don't apply to smartphones and how the tech is being used.

@glamajamma don't forget the thousands of programmers that just recently had their apps removed from the app store

Google responds to Apple's HTC lawsuit: 'We stand behind our Android operating system'

@naz I hope Nokia and Palm get into this and Apple gets the ass handed to them and they loose half their patents because they are proven to be used by the other companies first.

@techlord - I have always felt that Palm should sue Apple. Apple claims they did so much and paved the way but there is really nothing I could do on an iPhone that I couldn't do on a Treo650 that came out years before the iPhone was a thought.

Apple vs HTC: a patent breakdown

@Kbalz
I don't think they cover every time a small company sues a big one, but every time a big company sues a big company they do.
