I couldn't agree more, it pissed my off as a broadcast and graphic designer that ESPN, normally a leader in design for this stuff would take the 'NFL Football' route with f*ing tennis.

It's so annoying and hope they dont make this mistake ever again, if I have to work at figuring out who's up, or even who has the AD after a deuce, I mean, WTH.

And to think I just thought it was the local network reusing betamax tape at master control to run their ads.. interesting to here as I liked the none celebrity incarnations, esp since they deliberately leave clues to the identity for the audience but are so subtle they are hard to distinguish.

Agree with everyone. The first one was shocking, but I had myself thinking, ok, maybe that was the intent. But after seeing them do it AGAIN with this one, I was just shocked.

As a twenty-something white male, they both seemed to be purely stereotypical, not entertaining or fun and racist.

And to think the relatively tame 'beaver' godaddy spot got pulled cause Fox wouldn't air it.. nice job Fox, way to pick em, racist sure.. but references that no kid would get with the godaddy ad, no way. WTH.

@Scott, I agree I was looking for a little more in the way of 'organization'.. I've tried so many and they all come up far short of the intended goal, a simple quick way to organize.

Google Browser Sync and Google Bookmarks gets a +1, along with the Flat Bookmark Editing.

All I want: One click, saves bookmark, tags it based on included metadata, and description, screenshot of site and integrates completely into FF, and.. isnt buggy and ugly, haha.. oh and a way to export that as XML or something so I could.. SHARE them, would be nice.

Agreed completely, the fact that writers get pennies for DVD sales is a joke. I think the negotiations should have some sort of future 'new-media' clause to at least help give them 'ammo' in the future if, for example IPTV takes off and shows are delivered more on-demand. That wouldnt fit into what I've read of the current negotiations and would only further give reason for networks to push in that direction to avoid royalties.

Bottom line: Anyone that is an important part of a series is currently getting very fairly compensated, producers, directors, actors, heck I bet the grips get a better deal than the writers.

Chris (post 15) I couldn't agree more as I used to work in a station, not in Boston, but I don't remember the news director, or even reporters pulling off something this bad.

As pixelate said, they ran promos for this thing as early as Sunday night I believe all about 'xbox warning'.. not clarifying the issue. This is something more akin to stations like WHDH in the area, than WBZ now CBS4 which has a ridiculously long standing tradition of great journalism behind it.

It frustrates me that this story ever made it to air, or that other PR pieces packaged by companies make it to air in a lot of smaller markets and sold as news.

This story was all about scaring people, about a problem that no longer exists, that took place 1,500 miles from the station reporting it as 'local news' or at least letting us presume it is by airing it to begin with.

That, and to do it so close to the holidays, what parent, not knowing any better, or knowing the difference between all these consoles would go out and get an Xbox or Xbox 360 now, thinking it might be 'dangerous' and thanks CBS4 for 'keeping them informed.'
