GameStop details digital distribution storefront, XBLA games 'coming soon'
Nov 1st 2010 1:29AM (Joystiq)There really isn't much advantage if you know you want to buy X, unless you're some sort of frequent purchaser. But if GameStop can make enough on impulse purchases, it makes sense for them to do it.

Sep 29th 2010 12:32AM (Joystiq)Even a $35 dollar listing would indicate some sort of tip-of-the-hat to real-world pricing. List prices are hardly ever what something sells for. Valve knows this, and flexible prices with alluring sales have been hugely rewarding for them. I'm failing to see how selling a download-only version of a title for substantially more than the disk version goes for will fly.
Maybe if they offered pre-0 day online sales (Get it as soon as it is gold!), it might be worth buying. And certainly, in the early days of a title when retail is actually at MSRP, it might be more enticing. But a year late, and %50 overpriced is just bad.
