DS Daily: Will you wait?

Jan 23rd 2009 11:30AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm not planning to get the DSi at all. I would sooner spend the money on a PSP, and then I would have access to the entire PSP library. I doubt DSiware will beat that.

DS Daily: $179.99

Jan 17th 2009 12:25PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If they hope to sell it at $180, they're going to have to explain why it's so great. I've yet to hear anything that convinces me that it's worth the upgrade.

The Sennheiser PX100s do the job perfectly for me.

DS Daily: The year of the Nintendo DSi

Dec 31st 2008 12:34PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I still don't understand what's so great about the DSi. What great content are people looking forward to? I haven't heard about any of it.

Looks good. I like the Schumann piano music too.

Iwata's Quest: help sell Dragon Quest IX

Dec 12th 2008 1:54AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
It seems to me that the degree to which DQIX will appeal to non-Japanese audiences depends in large part on what kind of online experience it involves. Traditional RPGs are not particularly popular worldwide, but MMORPGs are. If DQIX offers a fun, accessible online component, it will do well outside of Japan. Of course, I'm on board either way, but I've been playing DQ games since Dragon Warrior 1.

DS Daily: On preventing piracy

Dec 11th 2008 12:09PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The best way to prevent piracy of digital media is to make the physical object itself more desirable. In this case, that means creating a nice overall package, including extras that come with the game, so that people will want to go out and buy it. Of course the game's publisher has to pay for the extra items and packaging, but I'm quite sure it would pay off with higher sales. Soundtrack CDs, deluxe manuals and art books are a few good options.

DS Daily: MMO-tivated

Dec 9th 2008 12:21PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Agreed. I would like to see something new. Although I wouldn't cry if they made a Final Fantasy MMO, as long as it wasn't a spin-off from a previous game.

DS Daily: At launch

Nov 22nd 2008 12:42PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I just got a DS Lite this year. I waited until there was a solid library of games to choose from. When the DS was first released, I had no idea how many great games there would be.

DS Daily: Evaluation

Nov 7th 2008 10:58AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm blown away by the size and diversity of the DS game library. When the DS was first announced, I had little interest in it as a system. But over the years, it has built up such a huge library that I consider it one of the best systems ever, alongside the SNES. If they stopped making DS games today, I would still have enough good games to keep me busy for years to come.

Some of my favorites so far are FF3, Mario Kart and Rune Factory.
