Apr 15th 2011 1:03PM (Joystiq)It was the smarmy smile you posted at the end. Whether or not intended to be smarmy, definitely came off as smarmy.
Yes, I posted it to see how many times I could use the word smarmy in a post. (There's one more).

Apr 9th 2011 3:02AM (Joystiq)That's what I am trying to say: at the launch of any console, if you compare that console to the best computer you can buy the computer will win - precisely because it takes so long to develop a console and hardware technology keeps moving forward during that time.
When the PS3 released SLi and Crossfire video cards were fresh on the market and making everyone drool.
Tretton talks up need for 'cutting edge' tech, MS and Nintendo falling behind
Apr 9th 2011 2:56AM (Joystiq)You guys were right to jump on me. I didn't really specify want I meant by "powerful" in terms of GFLOPS. The PS3 is around 220 and the 360 is around 115. The problem is putting all those GFLOPS to good use in terms of graphical fidelity and gameplay.
The PS3 really is a beast, it is still perhaps the cheapest and most efficient building block for a supercomputer. Does this translate to better games? As we have seen, this is not always the case.
I'm really not trying to be a fanboy. We have both the 360 and the PS3 in our house.
Tretton talks up need for 'cutting edge' tech, MS and Nintendo falling behind
Apr 8th 2011 7:21PM (Joystiq)The PS3 is actually much more powerful than the 360, it's just incredibly difficult to program for that power. And of course a console is behind the graphics power of a PC, has there ever been a console released that was more powerful than the best gaming PC at launch day? No. That console would cost thousands of dollars.
I actually agree with the point you're trying to make, but you're firing blanks.
