Editorial -- Nintendo's creeping doom: how the company came to misplace $926 million
Oct 28th 2011 10:14PM (Joystiq)But is that really true, Russ? It can't just have been me who thought the ratio of good-to-bad Dreamcast software was very high ...
Rumor: New Left 4 Dead 2 CG trailer leaked, epic
Oct 23rd 2009 10:08AM (Joystiq)It's clear to *anybody* who spent time with the game that those levels weren't meant to be played once and then forgotten about forever. In most FPSs, maybe that's the case: after all, enemies and items are in the same place every time.
Play a L4D level a thousand times over, and I can guarantee no playthrough will be exactly the same. The AI Director will throw different beasties - common and Special - in at different stages every single time. The result? Different situations and obstacles each time you play. Several hundred hours of gameplay later, L4D still produces hilarious stories and anecdotes of heroism and stupidity *all the time* for me.
It is not a "five-hour game," and if you feel it is, then I'm afraid you are missing the point quite spectacularly.

Europeans: Get rid of those excess Stars now!
Jul 2nd 2008 7:05AM (Joystiq Nintendo)They're not nuking the whole Stars system. As we wrote:
"... any Club Nintendo Stars that have been in your account for more than two years are getting atomized by Nintendo."
So it's just those Stars you collected before the end of June 2006! The rest of your Stars are safe.
