Too bad it won't be that design as that, unlike everything else made by Jag, is a strong, attractive car. Jags may be fun to drive with their aluminum bodies but man are they bland looking. Like giant 1980s Tauruses they lack any road presence.

In the 80s our neighbor had a Countach. As kids we lusted after the visuals of the car but we all knew it was crap as our neighbor was forever dealing with overheating issues and sundry engine maladies.

I've owned 3 BMWs. Two had the inline 6, one, sadly, had the inline turbo 6.

1. The inline 6 without the turbos isn't going to be around in the USA much longer. It's time is very short. 2012 will be it for the 3 series and the X3 will probably lose its inline 6 by 2013 too. The 528...not gonna hold onto the sweet inline 6 either.
2. The turbo 4 will be the base engine in the USA followed by the N55 turbo inline 6.

I'm not real happy about this as I've owned a few recent turbo cars and a few recent BMWs. The inline 6 is just more fun to drive hard. The turbos - be it a Audi TFSI or a BMW N54 = no thanks. They're just not fun to drive hard. There's no reward for wringing out the engine...just the opposite.

Such a bad manufacturer and awful dealer network it's really hard to understand how audi sells. Guess people like bland cars.

That's one fat, fat, fatty of a car with a very bad engine. BMW blew this one. They shoulda put the M3's V8 in it and given drives something fun and exciting not an engine that blow up high pressure fuel pumps.

Yes, nice torque but honestly, the extra 40+ HP missing from the Cooper S will be felt far more. I'd beat on my Cooper S and still get 30-31 MPGs. This thing will probably get better mileage but will the performance be on par? Doubtful.

Thing is, just like Vader is more than James Earl Jones' voice, The Stig is more than Ben Collins. The Stig will go on; Collins will not be the voice of CNN.

Driving with a manual doesn't require much concentration. Or effort.

Guess people on this board don't get some of us have jobs that entail 24 hour alerts that must be answered within 15 minutes of their arrival. Sounds great until you're stuck in traffic 45-60 minutes a day. Driving in bumper to bumper traffic it takes moments to hit reply on an email and send. Not much distraction there but to read the comments here, people in such jobs are evil and inconsiderate.
