Western Digital's Passport drive goes pink for breast cancer research

Oct 31st 2007 12:04PM (Engadget)
Your correct that if you can afford to donate to your favorite charity it benefits more than buying pink products for breast cancer awareness. However, for someone without the means to do so buying pink products does show that your willing to pay a little extra to help someone else. Its like giving the dollar at checkout to help feed children. Either way it benefits real people.

Western Digital's Passport drive goes pink for breast cancer research

@ Peter VK

I think your view on the matter is very cynical. If you were close to someone effected with Breast Cancer (or any cancer) you would most certainly be more sympathetic. If an extra 20-30 cents is going to effect your finances then you probably shouldnt consider purchasing that product. But, calling it a scam is highly disingenuous on your behalf.

Western Digital's Passport drive goes pink for breast cancer research

Thats really expensive. I just bought a "My Book" from Western Digital for Time Machine which was 500gb and only cost me $169.99 at Best Buy. They also had a 1TB for roughly $349.99. However, the My Book requires and external power source and I got the lower grade version which does not include SATA or Firewire, just USB 2.0. So, depending on specs of this device it could be a solid deal. However, based solely on price and capacity its not. At least some of the proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research which is very important. I bought my fiance a Pink ipod shuffle from target just because of the fact proceeds went to Breast Cancer Research.

Hey guys can you explain to me the purpose of this little device. Im not knocking it but I dont understand what your supposed to do with just 4gb. Am I missing something here? Is it a laptop computer, pmp or a UMPC? Once again im not hating I just want to get a better idea of functions that can be done with this device. With only 4gb it doesnt seem like you could hold many files or install programs. Someone please enlighten my in the dark ass.

Dead Space trailer the result of derelict vessels

boy o boy does your youth show young padawan...Lets see your moving onto games Ive already demolished...I played Gears for a while...until people like you ruined the game and started glitching because of a lack of player skill...Thats why the game is poop..and oh yeah, cliffy B promised all content would be free and sure enough they started charging for maps and the like....and fyi gears doesnt come close to the complexity and story telling of RE4...Gears has a awe inspiring 8 hour single player campaign that a monkey could beat on the most difficult setting...Thats the core of any game the Single player mode...if not just make it like Shadowrun and watch how bad it flops...funny thing is I would own you in any game we played ... I could ruin Halo and Bioshock for you but ill choose not to spoil the endings... Bioshock is real good...Halo..eh not so much...point is your a moron who likes to sensationalize everything you say and your pathetic attempt at "street cred" for earning all your GOW gamer points speaks volumes about your lack of self esteem...basicly as a GOW player your probably good...as a human being your terrible...Anyone who has to gloat about gamer achivements is a total shallow individual...

Salvio--

Right on I was talking more in general terms. I dont play these card games. I played pogs in middle school which was the closest thing to it. Dont you think if people dont buy the cards then the game will not be supported with updates? As for cheating in general terms its pretty deplorable and pointless. Why cheat when all you get is the satisfaction of winning unfairly.

some of us know...not all of us

"I like how alot of upcoming games are coming out in 3rd person perspective. Hmm.......wonder why??? =)"

Im assuming by your fan boi-ism including your profile pic and name has made you a bit angry today?? Especially considering how you were insinuating this was derived from the originality of Gears of War.

Yeah I did think of that all by myself! Imagine that.

You love Glitch of War and I think its poop...But dont play that you werent trying to jab at EA for copying your only reason for living (GOW)....Then try and call me out for pointing out the flaw in your pitiful argument...Just sad really
