NumbThumb online game rental service closes its doors

Jul 7th 2007 10:42AM (Joystiq)
Wow...never heard of NumbThumb. But it has to be good news for us gamefly customers. It seems gamefly is really getting bigger, especially with their new distribution center.

rockeranimefreak: gameflys "keep it" prices are great ranges from $15-30 for a used game.

Video game addiction: does it exist?

Wow, Charles, you really think your kids will self-destruct if you take away their games? Maybe there are other issues at stake. Sounds like you should seek some help.

Mine know of the world outside of video games and are active, well-rounded kids. But I have worked out a deal with my sons (13 & 16) to make sure things stay that way. They can only play video games after everything else is done and for no longer than 1 hour during the week. For them to agree, I got them a gamefly account (like netflix for kids). I set the parent controls so they can't rent anything over a Teen rated game. We've had the deal going for a few months now and they seem to be restricting our agreement. It's all about being a parent for your kids and not letting them "destroy" themselves with something as silly as video games.

GameFly East Coast distribution center adds states

I'm really glad to hear Gamefly working on this issue. I'm sure FL & NY and others will be added once they get things going. Point is, they're working on improving ship times, and they still have the best damn game selection out there.
I'm in Jersey and shipping speeds have definitely improved, sent a wii game back monday and got a new one thursday, this is how it should be.
