'One Moment in Time': The Spider-Man Story Nobody Wanted [Review]

Sep 14th 2010 8:16PM (ComicsAlliance)
"Why could these stories not have been done with Peter & MJ married? Why could the supporting cast not be large with Peter & MJ married?"

Came to say that as well. OMIT could have been handled so much better than a very special after school episode.

Jubilee Bites... Wolverine in 'X-Men' #3 [Preview]

Aug 20th 2010 3:28PM (ComicsAlliance)
So Jubliee becomes a vampire and gets bigger breasts and turns into Psylocke? Well-played Marvel. Hope I can buy all the multiple variant covers in order to truly enjoy this spectacle.

Annotations: 'Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne' #4 [Spoilers]

Jul 30th 2010 2:45PM (ComicsAlliance)
The box is a motherbox, the bells are either it's pinging or the bells from the end of the universe (or both). The blood and the apples is the red and black motif again, and can be seen when the cow-goon that wasn't shot is knocked into the roulette table.

Hex was just there to shoot Bruce, because only Jonah Hex would be awesome enough to be able to hit him.

Roundtable Review: 'Avengers' #1

May 21st 2010 2:56PM (ComicsAlliance)
It took 7 issues for Bendis to get Ultimate Spiderman into costume, I'm amazed Thor hit a guy in this issue.

If my photo hadn't been in it, I would likely have waited for the hardcover, and judging by those photos, there's no kids reading this book.

The Racial Politics of Regressive Storytelling

May 6th 2010 3:09PM (ComicsAlliance)
Geoff Johns is becoming the writer equivalent of Alex Ross. I like reading his stuff, I enjoy a lot that he's done, but I get so damn annoyed that it seems to be stuck in the Superfriends. That Robinson, who so perfectly subverted the retro-trope with Starman in the 90s has bought the DC company line it as well is depressing. I wonder how long Morrison lasts until it's all undone on him the way Marvel undid Xorn and Planet X.

At this point, I'm only buying DC books to get the rings that come with them.

The 5 Most Unlikely Marvel Noir Titles

Were the Little Rascals too obvious for Power Pack Noir that you went with newsies?
