BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger throws down on PC August 26

@zerokku

What I'm saying is that this is Calamity Trigger, an old game. The newer version Continuum Shift has already been pirated. What reason would Aksys have to release this?

Why is this being released? Continuum Shift was already leaked for the PC on torrent sites months ago.

New Mass Effect novel penned by sci-fi writer William C. Dietz

Jul 22nd 2010 9:48PM (Joystiq)
William C Dietz is by far one of the WORST writers. Any Halo book written by Eric Nylund is surprisingly good; however, any Halo book written by William C Dietz reads like a boring walkthrough of the game.

Swag Sunday: Assassin's Creed 2 (PC) [update]

I personally think Steam is just as bad as other DRM solutions, and proof in this is as simple as looking at the recent Supreme Commander 2 debacle. Steam requires you to log into Steam to play the games, and then of course, you MUST be playing the most recent version of the game in order to play, even if you only want to play single player... So SupCom2 launched with a 1GB patch, and NO ONE could play it on the first day because they were busy downloading off a server bogged down by Bad Company 2 downloads.

The best DRM solution I have seen so far is what Impulse did for Demigod. GPG basically came out and said, "pirate our game, here is the link to the torrent on TPB". The idea was, you could pirate the game, and play the single player freely. However, if you wanted to play online, you would have to buy the game so you could register your Impulse account with the game with a key. The majority of people who did this ended up buying it because they wanted to try out the multiplayer. Then of course, you didn't need to have Impulse open to play Demigod, not even for online! You didn't need to have most recent versions either; you just could only play against people who had the same version as you.

Joyswag: win an Astro Gaming A30 headset for your games, music, phonecalls

I would mostly use this on my PS3, White Knight Chronicles... and then maybe use it for some Supreme Commander and Demigod on my PC,

Completely agree. People knock on Harry Potter for the same reason. However, if it wasn't for HP, so many children wouldn't be reading books at all.
