Trine coming to US PSN today; Frozenbyte answers the obvious question

Oct 22nd 2009 6:11PM (Joystiq)
Huge mistake... we all know that people don't buy DLC games during the holiday season. Too many big budget titles are coming out for people to worry about Trine, Mushroom Wars or Critter Crunch.

No install for Final Fantasy XIII on PS3

I like installs... at least if they are optional. Given the option, I will install a game to reduce load times and icnrease performance.

Have Uncharted 2 questions? Ask Naughty Dog tomorrow

Someone make sure there AREN'T ranked online grinding trophies, like Resistance 2's "Killing Machine" trophy which has completely soured the game for me.

John Morrissey's 'Video Game Timer' is made of pure evil

Because the way this system works, it does damage to your hardware... as I explained here:

The way hard drives work, to shut a hard drive down, you have to cycle down the power so that the heads can situate themselves off the platter. When you shut your computer down using the built in functions, your computer does this automatically (not if you pull the plug). When you pull the power on a drive, without it going through the down cycle, whatever sector it is currently reading or writing is DEAD. The only way to repair it, is to low level format the sector. Everytime you dont shut your computer down correctly, or you have a power outtage, or your computer freezes... you just lost a sector on your hard drive.

Lost Winds dev: Reviewers are a problem with low Wii metacritic scores

Jun 19th 2009 5:10PM (Joystiq)
I think it does. We deal with the same thing in the fighting game community. For every dollar that gets spent somewhere, it is taken away from elsewhere. So for every dollar that is spent into putting characters like Darth Vader and Yoda into Soulcalibur 4, thats a dollar that is taken away from being invested into actually balancing the core engine and making it a better game.

All these casual and shovelware games are taking investments oppurtunities away from the core market and because of the success of the Wii, the core market is suffering.

How am I being a troll? The OP asked us loyal readers if they should continue covering casual games, or just stick to the core; which is their primary fanbase. I'm saying they should stick to the core, which is frankly not what the Wii is offering.

I would be happy if I NEVER see another Wii story on this website again.

Trophies: Cross Edge

The PS2 version of this game NamcoXCapcom was terrible... this game will probably be just as bad.
