Fun facts about Alan Wake's facial animation

Feb 27th 2010 2:43AM (Joystiq Xbox)
He's missing his tongue. It's totally black, and that's weird. I guess it's hard to put 'markers' there. But that's the missing ingredient to making this look really great. Definitely better than most anything I've seen in this generation, which typically looks like like a creepy doll show.

It's definitely Ikaruga for me. Though it's a high-stress experience for sure - I've never played a game that had such and extreme effect on me before (and since).

I badly want something new, original, and creative to be announced at E3. I am so, so sick of sequels, remakes, etc.

Oh, and I really hope that I win Space Invaders Extreme.

Izuna's milkshake brings all the boys to Amazon's yard

Kimiko, I completely agree with you. I think it's really sad that's it's very common (and accepted) to take a potentially strong female character and make her a slutty stereotype with unrealistic and exaggerated features (at least in the anime-esque world). Yes, I understand that Izuna has "always been marketed this way", and I understand it's "fanservice". It makes me concerned, though, that this is what people want and that it's seen as totally fine. To me, it feels a little misogynistic. I am really interested in what more female gamers think about this.
