Hands-on with the BBC's iPlayer for iPad

Feb 10th 2011 10:46AM (TUAW.com)
I totally agree on the hostage front. iPlayer and Spotify for Netflix and Hulu sound more than fair.

Where are we going to do the trade off? It's got to be on a bridge on a foggy day on neutral ground, lets say Canada?

Rumor: Apple looking at buying Spotify... to incorporate it or close it?

Oct 27th 2010 6:10AM (TUAW.com)
Totally agree, I consume much more music now I have Spotify premium and I'm much more likely to try out new bands know I'm not going to end up forking out for a dud album I bought on the strength of one song.

The only problem I have with spotify is it's music selection. It's missing lots of remixes on singles and bonus tracks on albums, and although iTunes also has missing artists, there are some glaring omitions from Spotify.

If Apple did subscriptions I'd happly pay £20 if it was the full iTunes catalogue, Music videos and Audiobooks.

If they extended it to TV & Films and AppleTV 1080p I'd seriously consider ditched parts of my Sky Subscription and picking up a AppleTV.

Zune Pass for UK gets briefly teased, priced?

Jul 18th 2010 1:59PM (Engadget)
Well only a few years late, when the Zune came out state side I was interested... but that was 4 years ago.

Now we have iPhones and Spotify.

Make an iPhone app and I'll do it, since it's a quid cheaper.

Google setting up music store later this year, looking for search and Android synergy

@BigJayDogg3 The problem is phones get old, so I don't want to be locked in to upgrading to the next version of a certain phone because I like one service it provides.

I like how Spotify is across many platforms so when I change phone I know it's one thing I don't have to think about. I doubt Apple would ever swallow their pride and put out an Android App, but Google would certain do an iPhone one.

For me it's simple. Any of the big three that can deliver me basically what Spotify does, with all the music choice of iTunes and with options for film and TV for the lowest monthly price, with out tying me to specific hardware gets my business.

Yeah, I'm in the June 7th bracket to. Hopefully they come early like these ones have.

Luckily my little brother got his today so I managed to have a blast. I can tell you it's well worth the wait!

iPads arriving a day early in UK

@coolblue2000 Thank you, yes I already have a laptop, but it's not really a great device for reading a book in the garden is it?

Anyway, it's good to see people aren't scared of having the same arguments over and over.
