Editorial: Waiter, there's a Nazi theme in my Android Market (updated)
Aug 13th 2010 6:04PM (Engadget)You just spelled out why Android appeals to me and iPhone does not.
An app store SHOULD be an open venue where anything and everything can be sold. I don't care if you want to create an ESRB-like system, or a "mature" section, or whatever... just keep it open.
Exclusive: Sony Ericsson to introduce Android 3.0 gaming platform and PSP Go-like smartphone
Aug 11th 2010 6:49PM (Engadget)I've been dying to have some game controls on Android. I HATE virtual overlays on the iTouch and my Android phone. And with thousands of NES, SNES, & Genesis ROMs on my Android, it's been the source of much lament for me.

If you mean cheap, open-source, open-platform applications and games then hell yeah, bring it on, Sony.
On topic: I have no interest in crap like FarmVille and MafiaWars, but I am interested to see where Google goes with this. If it only manages to bring some new ideas to the table, then at least other companies will gain some new ideas, and that's a good thing. Much like how smartphone gaming has inspired consumer ratings for content on the PS3.

Jul 27th 2010 4:52PM (Engadget)True dat. It does run 2.1 & 2.2 nicely. Switching apps is often slow though while it unloads and loads from it's tiny cache of memory.
