ICD Ultra Android tablet hands-on
Dec 20th 2009 4:14PM (Engadget)It "looks" like a mobile phone version plunked onto a tablet. what with the icons being so small and spaced so far apart.
yes, i know it's changed for "x" number of reasons. It just looks a little sloppy. now, if they gave it a properly suited interface. I'm all for it.

Nov 5th 2009 2:55PM (Joystiq)I'm not saying that this type of content isn't beneficial, as are the benefits of keeping the creative mind active. I also work full time in the creative field and can find it difficult sometimes to keep the flow going outside of the day to day design work.
I spent many a year doing mod work for quake and counterstrike, but unfortunately these days a lot of my spare time is spent on freelance/contract outside when I'm not trying to get in my gaming. And that's my own doing.
Just saying that they seem to have neglected what is potentially a way of keeping the game 'new', not only for current owners, but new ones as well.
There is a growing number of people who feel "left out". and it's unfortunate that they feel that way. Especially for a game of this type.
Media Molecule talks up DLC, shoots down LittleBigPlanet sequel
Nov 5th 2009 2:25PM (Joystiq)I haven't bought any of the DLC/costumes. Because, well, I don't want more costumes. I've had it since launch and I've been waiting for a new original set of levels (more than the few that the MGS stuff added). I also don't care if it's licensed, I just want content. I'm borderline on trading it in. I just don't care to wait anymore.
Attempts at finding levels online was fruitless and less than fun. It's all disjointed. I tend to play a lot of the time 'offline'. I want a series of levels, strung together, in the same style and of at least some respectable length. As well, new level building stuff doesn't interest me as I don't have the time to create levels for myself. There's a job and personal life to deal with.

Jul 5th 2009 5:00PM (Engadget)-> Hatters were people who made hats. Mercury was used for curing the felt, which of course led to mercury poisoning. Who then appeared to be "mad" or mentally unstable.
hence, as mad as a hatter.

Jun 11th 2009 12:27AM (Engadget)depending on how the photo was taken, original compression, and then processing compression. -> "save for web" does this. That's how you get smaller files.
It's just not likely to be a photoshop job specifically because of that. If anything, it would have been a one off prototype whipped up by the casing manufacturer. Once molds are made, it's easy to change similar material types, colours and coatings.
It's disappointing though that the retail version isn't matte. :(
and also. man, I wish people would stop all the anti/pro apple agruements. sigh... gadget site, it's a popular gadget (available here), lots of people want to read it. get over it.
Logitech Harmony Adapter for PlayStation 3 now shipping
May 15th 2009 1:32PM (Engadget)I have the Nyko. in addition to mentioned drawbacks. The nyko is "technically" a controller. -> uses USB port, registers in #1 controller spot if you leave it plugged in, AND, it has a VERY minimal amount of commands. only controller button presses. It's not passing BT remote codes.
The Logitech sends remote codes. As the BT remote. Power on without needing controller. A+
-> also. some ppl stream more than they use dvd/bd.

Dec 8th 2008 11:50PM (Joystiq)Rare will fix SDTV Banjo-Kazooie text issue [update]
Nov 5th 2008 3:22PM (Joystiq)But really, nowadays to be playing without even a monitor that can support HD res is a little hard to believe. I mean, if anything, go and buy a 19" CRT to play it on, that could easily do HD (even if 4:3) and be fine to play at a reasonable distance (they're also extremely cheap nowadays).
And at this point to "expect" these things to be dumbed down to play on a 14"SDTV is a little outlandish. I mean, c'mon Those of us that work hard for our hobby are getting tired of jumbo sized, blurry text in games (I am at least).
