You're way off on this one. The first 360 update that you linked to did NOT support background downloading. It was much much later.

PS3 beat 360 to the punch on the time till update for this essential feature. But not really a big deal. They all have background downloading now, hurray. However PS3 console interface is still pretty clumsy. Needs a complete overhaul.

It better be London. I'm so psyched to find out. I wanna see those next-gen visuals. The trailer better not be CGI though it probably wont be. They've had a working engine for at least a year already (table tennis).

GTA is all about story, characters, and craziness. Gameplay is good but saints row, crackdown, and countless other sandbox games all offer that. No one yet offers the GTA experience that the GTA3 trilogy games had.

Though I predict GTAIV might be smaller than San Andreas which would suck. But better graphics means new limitations.

I love the Unreal3 engine and all, but anyone worried that it could make every game end up looking 80% alike?

We need engine diversity. Serious, ID, Renderware, Crysis, Source... who else? Catch up with these guys and start licensing your engine! Just compete on price and features - not so difficult...

Theres probably no reason for Oblivion to go bargain priced just yet. Its still the best game on the 360. I'm betting in about a year they'll do one of those game of the year editions for 40 bucks with all the downloadable content included.

Gamespot was pretty harsh. There's no question all the criticism's against it are completely valid. But its crazy that despite that its probably my favorite game yet on the Xbox (gears of war is done for me).

I love this game and hope we end up with a sequel with the superbosses and maybe a story. I dont even want them to change the engine. Just give us more content and a bigger city. If they play their cards right, this could be a yearly franchise like madden.

10 bucks for doom ONLINE play is a bargain. theres currently no other alternative other than lan.
