It's called a compromise. You either want a lower priced PS3, or you want a PS3 with backwards compatibility if it's new. Sony decided that people were more interested in a $100 price drop than playing PS2 games on their PS3, and I think they're right.
Let it go, or go to eBay.
Like many others, I have a 60GB and only use the BC every now and again. If the 60GB didn't have BC, I would've kept my PS2.

Aug 11th 2009 11:08AM (Engadget)If you're referring to VGChartz numbers, you're actually wrong. XBox 360 leads in "Other" territories (Territories other than North America and Japan), but the Europe picture looks to be even or slightly favoring PS3.

I'm not sure what other countries they're including in the "other" section at the end, but that's where you're seeing the 360 edge over PS3, not in Europe.
