Way to reward an inferior product by buying another one when your original fails.

Anyone complaining about backwards compatibility probably wasn't going to buy one anyway. Used 60GB, FULLY BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE PS3s are going for under $300 on eBay. It's not like you can't get your backwards compatible PS3 at the $300 price point.

"But I want a new one!"

It's called a compromise. You either want a lower priced PS3, or you want a PS3 with backwards compatibility if it's new. Sony decided that people were more interested in a $100 price drop than playing PS2 games on their PS3, and I think they're right.

Let it go, or go to eBay.

Like many others, I have a 60GB and only use the BC every now and again. If the 60GB didn't have BC, I would've kept my PS2.

You're right. The PS3 is the easy choice in that group.

If I remember correctly, the date on the PS3 in the video was 11/17. This could've been filmed last fall for all we know.

Time to put the end to speculation and finally get some answers!

Here's to hoping for a $299 PS3 slim and a new firmware with soft PS2 backwards compatibility!

If you're referring to VGChartz numbers, you're actually wrong. XBox 360 leads in "Other" territories (Territories other than North America and Japan), but the Europe picture looks to be even or slightly favoring PS3.

I'm not sure what other countries they're including in the "other" section at the end, but that's where you're seeing the 360 edge over PS3, not in Europe.
