Nov 22nd 2007 10:49AM (Joystiq Playstation)Actually most of what was shown was either in game, or real time. Rendered on the PS3. (Pretty much everything but Final Fantasy XIII Versus was real time rendered.)
Just remember there is a difference between cut-scenes rendered on a PS3, and CGI rendered on a rendering farm (Lots of powerful computers linked together, filmed, and then played back on the PS3.
Industry flamebait: the PS3 is a 3DO
Oct 2nd 2007 5:55AM (Joystiq Playstation)Actually the RROD come around before the first year was up.
Don't shy away from the fact that the PS3 has been publicly tested in some of the harshest conditions you could think of. The PS3 Passed with Flying colors. The same can not be said about the 360.
The 360 IS a poorly made console, rushed to the market with more then one design flaw. (The lack of HDD's in every system, the Disk scratching problem, and the RROD) Then Backed by a Pocket book to buy up ever exclusive and Studio it can.
The fact is, if the 360 never came around, Sony would have all those 360 exclusive titles, they would all look and run better. There would be no crappy ports from the 360. And the PS3 would be well along its way to reaching its potential, not being held back by multiplatform games only taking up 9 gigs of the BRD, not taking advantage of the Hard Drive, and not using the Two Teraflops of power the PS3 offers.
Well informed Fanboy rant /off

Sep 28th 2007 7:40PM (Joystiq Playstation)Heavenly Sword was great. Could it have been longer? Yes... Is there anything wrong with giving a story a start, a middle and a end? The game was well worth $60 for fans, if it isn't for you, its short enough to rent.
(Also note, I play warhawk with motion controls on, practice and Lair is super easy.)

Sep 1st 2007 10:43PM (Joystiq Playstation)Indefinate just means a unknown amount of time. Or in their case, a undisclosed amount of time. (i.e. 18 months which the 150 mil payed for)
They aren't going to go and say, we are only supporter the lesser selling media for 18 months, then going back to BluRay! That would just be stupid.
Blu still wins. Only difference is for 18 months I wont be renting/buying and Paramount movies.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be free
Aug 27th 2007 10:49AM (Joystiq Playstation)Find a Demo as complete as GT5:P and then you have a point. Until then, your just looking like a fool.
Gabe Newell trashes PS3's Cell architecture
Aug 25th 2007 2:18PM (Joystiq Playstation)Not to say hes wrong, the PC will almost always be the better choice, if you have that choice to make. I for one cannot wait to upgrade my PC to rejoin the PC gamers. PC/PS3/Wii! (here is to the hope that Fable 2, and Halo 3 don't to long to get ported to the PC!)

Aug 25th 2007 2:14PM (Joystiq Playstation)Aside from that, we've seen devs I respect more then this guy say the PS3 is no harder to program for, just something new to learn.
And we've had Devs say, it just takes longer to program for.
Then there is the EA type devs who say its a hardware problem.
The truth, is likely somewhere in the middle, as it almost always is.
