Japanese doctors recommend Brain Training for seniors

I thought I saw rumors that the US release of the DS Lite was going to coincide with the release of New Super Mario Bros. Which would be May 7th.

Does anyone else find it odd that mainstream press articles are constantly referring to Nintendo as if they're struggling financially? Call me a fanboy if you'd like, but I think it's odd that the article mentions them needing to turn around their fortunes and calls them "struggling", while mentioning that revenue is down a whopping 1.7% to 3.6 Billion...

The definition of insanity.. The Music Industry

I agree on the DVD ripping. I recently bought a CD/DVD DualDisc (one side DVD, one side CD). The CD had some sort of DRM, and rather than mess with it, I simply ripped the AC3 audio tracks off the DVD. Those can easily be converted to whatever format you'd like, or alternately played in their original format.

NBA Refs and the playoffs

Geoff: Mark says its might not be reasonable for every announcer to memorize the rulebook, because most of the play by play announcers seem to handle several different sports for the networks. Basketball specific color-men should probably have a better handle on the rules, but the rulebook's pretty big... Bruce: Cuban on occasion does have an editor go back and correct misspellings, I believe. I would wager he doesn't think it is worth his time to go back and correct his grammar. His time he spends on his blog is limited as it is. I wager you spent more time on your reply than he spent on his entire message.

An NBA fun Fact

What's with the Terry bashing, Leszczur? I've heard other people complaining about him shooting too much... He's been ice cold from the 3 point line recently after being 2nd in the league in 3 pt percentage for a while (he's still 10th in the league), but he's top 20 in the league in shooting percentage... Shooting a better percentage than anyone else on the Mavs by far... Wouldn't you want your most efficient offensive player taking the most shots?

There is a new idiot on the sports scene

I personally am pretty happy with the Mavericks team right now...especially with the recent strong play of Jason Terry. Terry seems like the sort of guy that does a lot better if he knows theres a lot of confidence in him throughout the organization. Hopefully he doesn't read these articles online and think that people aren't appreciative of his efforts. I think whether Cuban's still scheming up trades in the background or not (hopefully not), I think a vote of confidence from Cuban towards Terry would be a good thing all around.

Ref stats update

I agree with whoever asked about tracking calls for and against the home team. I think it'd be interesting to try and determine all the "close calls" and rate one way or another whether certain referees tend to call them for the home team or against. Some NBA referees seem to really enjoy being the bad guy and making pivotal calls against the home team... at least in my opinion.

Team USA and the NBA Part 2

I think one of Mark's complaints in the past is that the NBA is structured to coerce teams into retaining contracts and getting rid of veterans with higher minimum salaries. Maybe an Olympic team made up of NBA veterans who arent' currently associated with a team, but who've proven they can ball in the past gets put together, possibly with some undrafted college talent. All these players should be hungry for patriotic reasons, as well as to try and prove to NBA scouts watching that they have what it takes to survive in the NBA.

Some people were asking about mamma.com. I think I saw a few weeks ago that Cuban had sold some/possibly gotten out entirely. I think it was all some ploy to see if he had enough clout to pump a stock with just the notice of his investment ;-)

Is it just me or is the first hit for all sorts of things a link to ebay?
