Joyswag: Fallout 3 + game guide

Nov 3rd 2008 6:01PM (Joystiq)
My all-time favorite is still the chaingun from the old school Wolfenstein 3D. If they ever release that for XBLA, I may never turn my 360 off again. The chaingun pops up in almost every FPS, but it was at its best in that game.

Joyswag: Win this $5K dollar gaming rig from Falcon Northwest

Nov 21st 2007 8:43AM (Joystiq)
My most recent complete machine had an Athlon XP 2700, 640 MB RAM and a 256MB GeForce 7800 (running at 4x AGP thanks to my crappy eMachines motherboard)

I'm building a new rig right now with an Athlon 64 X2 4000+, 2GB RAM, 200 GB hard drive and... onboard graphics! Yeah! Actually, I'm just waiting for an 8800GT to become available again so I can jump on it.

Elder Scrolls going online? Maybe

If they turn Oblivion into an MMO and do a good job with it, I may never get anything accomplished again.

Apple sells 2 million copies of Leopard since Friday

Adrenalin, iLife 06 did not come with Tiger.

iLife has always been sold separately from the OS, from day one. The only reason you would have gotten it at the same time as Tiger is if you paid for both or if you got a new Mac that already had both installed. There has never been a bundle, and I doubt there ever will be.

Leopard delivery delays hit some areas

I'm just south of Indy, and mine was delivered before 10:00. I'm installing right now.

Ask TUAW: Ripped DVDs in Front Row, Sleeping MacBook, game controllers, and more

Oct 22nd 2007 8:10AM (TUAW.com)
The reason Front Row doesn't change the Airtunes volume is very simple (and stupid). Front Row's volume control is tied into the system's volume control, not iTunes.

It's changing the volume for everything on your Mac, not just your music. To change the volume in Front Row, you have to change the volume in iTunes. Since there is no preference pane for Front Row (also stupid), there is no obvious way to change Front Row to change application volume rather than system volume.

Hopefully Leopard's version of Front Row will change that, but I'm not holding my breath.

Joyswag: Win a brand-new Darth Vader PSP-2000 (Day 2)

Han shot first. I only acknowledge the original film. All the re-releases are bastardizations of a classic.
