Apple delays white iPhone a second time, won't ship until 'later this year'

@pple is poo

I have some family in China. The word there is that they are having trouble getting to optomal density of the white compound to put on the glass.

On a related note, they are saying that they have changed the density of paint they are using on the black models, and that has helped the antenna problems.

Apparently, these ideas are all over the Chinese blogs

@DirtyVegas

Who wants to bet that the Iphone return rates will jump up tomorrow after this?

I dropped 4 calls during the same conversation in walking in Boston. Each time the calls dropped I had the phone in my left hand.

I think most people forget that cell phones are also a lifeline if you are in an emergency. Lets say you cut your right hand and need to call 911 with your left. Are you going to bleed to death because you can't use the iPhone with the left hand?

Comparing Japanese and US car markets is not very straight forward for two main reasons: 1. Japanese companies are notorious for saving the best stuff for their own people, 2. Japan imposes a large tax on cars after they reach a certain mileage (I think ~50,000 miles) ; therefore, no one drives older cars in Japan. So a sudden acceleration problem that only occurs due to wear and age is not a concern for Japanese drivers. Supposedly, Toyotas in Japan are not that reliable, because no one keeps the cars very long.

No fanboy stuff, just hard to compare the two different markets.
