XBL Free: Offline gaming only. Bunch of "upgrade to Gold" ads. late demos. no streaming services. Microsoft screwing people over as usual.
PSN: Online gaming. text chat. voice chat. picture messaging. free use of streaming services. Sony appealing to gamers with common sense.
PSN w/ PlayStation Plus: Same as regular PSN, but with cloud storage for game saves. automatic updates. automatic downloads. early access to demos. beta invites. FREE games. FREE themes. Deep discounts on select games and DLC. Game trials.
XBL Gold: Cross game chat. You pay Microsoft to use your Xbox.
I would have sold my 360 long ago, but I keep getting 12 month XBL cards for Christmas. I prefer PSN to XBL, it's a much better service in my opinion, mostly because it's free, and if you do pay, you get a lot of awesome things. (INB4 run-on sentence!)
XMB vs. Xbox Dashboard?
XMB: Simple and effective.
Xbox Dashboard: Each update looks better than the previous, but things get more complicated and the interface becomes less effective. ADS, ADS, AND MORE ADS. You start to forget this is a paid service. I'm afraid to see what the next Dashboard will look like. Will we have to watch 30 sec. commercials before we can play Forza 5?
