Yar's Revenge video reminds us Yar's Revenge is a real thing

Feb 2nd 2011 11:08PM (Joystiq)
Crap, there goes my Yar's Revenge remake, although mine was more in line with the original game. Maybe worth finishing (but renaming)!

Conduit 2 delayed again, release date now April 19

Wow, that has got to be one of the lamest screenshots I've seen for a modern video game. They're better off showing off box art.

Avatar Kinect bringing Avatar control, facial expressions to Xbox Live Gold members this Spring [Update: Now with video!]

I'm trying to imagine in the 50s-60s, futurists trying to imagine what humanity will come up with. I think even then they craved for some type of nice video chat system ... imagine their reaction when we show them this, semi intelligent people sitting around and talking in chat rooms by over gesturing and silly looking avatar representations of them.

Oh technology ...

I guess this is a replacement for video chat with people who don't have the bandwidth or are too shy to show their faces.

60 million PSN accounts created to date, says Sony's Stringer

@trickybuz93

My PSP and PS3 account is the same thing, so it doesn't necessarily mean that PSP and PS3 are different accounts and count differently.

@AFATALERR0R

That hardly seems a good reason to pay for the service. Who cares if people have multiple accounts? That's nice, I don't want to pay multiple times for access just because we have different profiles in our house.

OnLive coming 'built in' to new VIZIO TVs, Blu-ray players

Jan 4th 2011 10:17AM (Joystiq)
@BananaBoat

Good find, yeah using the wireless controller is nice, but as you point out, if not included with the TV kind of unlikely people will get it.

So basically, out of the box you can't do anything with it then right?

OnLive coming 'built in' to new VIZIO TVs, Blu-ray players

The biggest problem is the controllers.

Currently OnLive is for PC games, which at the very minimum require a keyboard, most require a keyboard and a mouse.

I imagine Vizio has USB connectors for a keyboard and a mouse, but do they have wireless connectivity (preferably bluetooth) to those devices? And even if they do, a mouse interface is problematic on a TV while people are sitting on their couches.
