Shadows of the Damned composer sounds off

Sep 15th 2010 2:37PM (Joystiq)
Very excited to hear what the combination of Yamaoka, Suda and Mikami yields!
Although as wonderful as the SH soundtracks are, I regard nearly every track involving Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as the respective album's nadir. Thankfully 1 and 2 escaped this.

Hopefully it patches the game ending plot holes! Eh? Anyone? No?

Tekken: The Movie: The Trailer: The Post

Jan 15th 2010 10:01PM (Joystiq)
Still, at least the fights aren't representative of two "pro" Tekken fighters going at it, i.e. 30 seconds of back and forth spasticated crouching followed by a launcher and juggle, KO!

Review: Bayonetta

Wii Sports has an incredible story brimming with pathos and complexity, you should check it out!

Metareview: Bayonetta

Dec 22nd 2009 9:15PM (Joystiq)
I didn't "get" the demo, the tutorial didn't really explain anything so I ended up stumbling through the level half-assedly using the same 2 combos repeatedly, accidentally picking up and throwing away weapons, and still got an A rating... One play and it was discarded. Whereas I spent hours playing the Ninja Gaiden demo in anticipation for the full game.
Although Master Ninja Mode is quite cheap at least that game has a solid coherent combat system, and thankfully the camera is close enough on Ryu for the game to be actually considered 3rd person, as opposed to the nigh-on RTS level of outward zoom Bayonetta has.
The scores smack of Demon's Souls Syndrome, where each reviewer is too scared to give a low score for fear of being told they suck at the game.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories trailer rocks out

Dec 2nd 2009 5:49PM (Joystiq)
Though I adore and have overplayed the SH soundtracks, I've never liked the vocal tracks and they've gotten progressively worse in tandem with the series. This sounds like some kind of heinous mid-90s, mid-chart, middle of the road rock for moms. More clangs and screams please!

Rock Band platform now has over 1,000 songs

Given that the picture is of the 360 version I thought it would be apt. "IT PRINTS CURRENCY TRANSACTED THROUGH THE PSN'S WALLET INTERFACE AND/OR CARDS PURCHASED IN-STORE!" didn't have the same ring to it, I apologise.
