Rockstar's Table Tennis is no joke

Apr 3rd 2006 7:13AM (Joystiq)
I'm looking forward to see how something like this would look on Revolution, but probably not like how most fanboys see it. At most, I'd expect it to succeed if they kept it to just simple control, like using the controller to move the paddle into position, and then still pressing a button to swing. Anything else, and it will sound as stupid as all those suggestions of using the controller to swing a sword in zelda.

Movies on UMD to receive final curtain call?

Mar 31st 2006 6:15AM (Joystiq Playstation)
just as I predicted. a bomb like MD albums when I saw them in the UK years ago. and the Feingold was wrong. It's not because of movie ripping that sales sucked. Movie ripping onto PSP sucks as well, enough that I wouldn't want to bother with it, unless I decide to plop another $500 on a new dual core machine to do it quickly, like some other idiot said I should do in the past. it was the price point and the lack of TV out. Dumb idiots. digital distribution is the way to go for PSP.

PSP year one: a look back

Mar 30th 2006 11:48AM (Joystiq Playstation)
pixelator, if you really hate this site so much, why do you bother lingering around here (probably in your lingeries too)? Why don't YOU post a "more favorable" article for the site then? God, I was wrong about you. You're not just fanboy-in-denial. you're a troll. and probably a butt ugly one too.

Hollywood's UMD support dwindling -- Blu-ray next?

Mar 30th 2006 11:20AM (Joystiq)
Besides it's (trivial) content protection, what disadvantages does DVD have compared to that of BD and HD-DVD? Is it really that important to try to force people to own HD content? I don't even feel like possessing these movies in my home anymore, too lazy to go to blockbuster, and don't feel like surfing netflix for my next movie. They waste too much space and time! I'd rather just make good use of broadband to stream the stuff to me on a subscription basis and cutout many middlemen.

Kiosk Hunting: London calling

Mar 30th 2006 4:33AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Kiosks has got to be the dumbest waste of time and money I've ever seen. It all seems like a step backwards. I don't go to my local Gamestop to demo pc games. I just download them over the net on my PC. And the DS supports WiFi and will have a browser later this year. I rather sit at a starbucks or some other internet cafe on a weekend, sipping on my latte, and try a demo, not go to a tech store and stand around like geek. What's the point of all this? am I missing something? is this just more industrial self-indulgence? I rather see Nintendo focus on getting that browser to us faster. This is something that I think the PSP is heading on the right direction.

PSP gets price cut, GPS, camera, VoIP and future media download service

Mar 15th 2006 10:11AM (Engadget)
The PS1 emulation is almost worthless!! Where's the streaming music and video service for cheap?,WHERE'S THE TV ATTACHMENT THAT WAS RUMORED LAST MONTH?!?! You, know things that the adults want. The "target" audience for this. PSP is looking more and more like the "kiddie gimmick" than the DS touch screen that PSP fanboys used to shout around.

The online media would've been ten times easier to implement the great online experience than game distribution. Because, you know, Sony would've had to try figure how to DRM the PS1 binaries anyways, and waste more time. But knowing Sony and their multiple personality disorder, horrible online media distribution track record, and lack of centralized software development culture, this will probably flop just the same as the rest of Sony's half-assed efforts.

Katamari PSP gold, could mark series' finale

I hate these lame tactics to try to boost sales of the product. Companies do this crap only to hype things up more.
