Win an LCD HDTV, Xbox 360, and plenty of Old Spice

My 360's have been manufactured out of fail. A backup system would be nice.

Peter Moore tells Joystiq about the new warranty program

Jul 6th 2007 1:22PM (Joystiq)
The gamer community needs to track this for themselves. http://www.theconsoletracker.com was built for this purpose. Be honest, and it will be fair.

There are still a lot of people that won't be covered by the extension of the warranty. Are they gonna have to find ways to make their machines RROD so they can get service? My 360 locked up after 5 mins. Just froze. No RROD. So, not covered. And I personally can't really forgive Moore for the "service after the sale" comment. A lot of people have had a lot of issues with their refurbs.

New 360 warranty: is it enough?

Jul 6th 2007 1:11AM (Joystiq Xbox)
RROD is not the only problem the consoles have suffered. What about lockups w/o RROD, Disc Read Errors. Returned consoles that won't sync controllers. The 3 year warranty should have covered ALL consoles for ALL problems. Not just the ones they can find diagnostic codes for. My dead console would not be covered. Works for 5 mins, then freezes. No RROD. 4 weeks out of warranty. No coverage. But that's just me. What's one person's story.

I still think that http://www.theconsoletracker.com is a good idea. Let the community show the failure rates for themselves. Let us show how many would still be affected.

360's Warranty extended to THREE years!

So, Red Ring of Death isn't the only thing that is killing consoles. The three year warranty is the right thing. But what about the other problems. Lockups, Disc Read Errors and the like. http://www.theconsoletracker.com Sign up, put your data in. Make sure everyone gets to know the real failure rates.

Anecdotal: Red Ring of Death rate is 33% says DailyTech

Is it possible for the gamer community to find out the failure rates for themselves? I'm not sure, but we can try. http://www.theconsoletracker.com . Built for this purpose.
