Japanese release of Wii Fit met by loooong queues
Dec 4th 2007 8:39AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Wii Warm Up: E3 -- your thoughts
Jul 15th 2007 5:32PM (Joystiq Nintendo)I'm worried that soon they'll start thinking: why bother crafting deep, thrilling, enthralling, moving, beautiful games, when we can churn out this training crap in no time, with no effort and no imagination and the ignorant mainstream masses will swallow it up.
I am not comfortable with WiiFit. I think it's horrid.
Wii Warm Up: E3 -- your thoughts
Jul 15th 2007 3:12PM (Joystiq Nintendo)You're all saying "but it'll sell loads". Well, is that all that matters to you? Are you fans or shareholders? I don't mind some of these casual games (I love Brain Age for example) but this is getting ridiculous. It's all very well Nintendo appealing to casuals and I'm happy that they're selling so well, but not if it's at the expense of their artistic integrity.
I have owned and adored every single Nintendo console, but as a gamer I'm starting to look at my Wii with contempt. I was all for the Wii when it was first announced, but if by "revolution" they meant WiiFit then I feel betrayed. I want to play games, not exercise!!
I (foolishly) expected Nintendo to use this E3 to reassure me, but instead they did the exact opposite. I want to be told that I'm a "SUPER GAMER" not that I'm "overweight".

Wii Fanboy staff keynote reactions
Jul 11th 2007 4:06PM (Joystiq Nintendo)All Nintendo has done is angered the vast majority of gamers by giving us the one thing we prayed they wouldn't; yet another casual, lame, crappy, minigame-fest.
This e3 was the perfect opportunity to prove the Wii naysayers wrong, to show people that they do still care about games and gamers, that their new-found success isn't at the expense of their artistic integrity and that they haven't sold out and are now purely interested in how many casual idiots they can get to buy this stuff.
But now all people are leaving with is the thought of WiiFit. Great.....
WiiFit gonna make you sweat
Jul 11th 2007 2:55PM (Joystiq)I bought a games console, not a frigging exercise machine!!
WiiFit gonna make you sweat
Jul 11th 2007 1:33PM (Joystiq)I prayed that they wouldn't end with some casual garbage for morons. But they did.
So Miyamoto says he's "more excited about this game than any other"? Again, deeply depressing.
Wii gets healthy, gets Fit
