Breakfast Topic: Is it time to implement artifacts?

If there was something in the game even more unobtainable than a legendary (that isn't obsolete), I would never see one, and certainly never get one. So for all I know, they're already in the game!

Breakfast Topic: What will you be wearing the first day of transmogrification?

Forget tier gear. This is one of the custom looks I put together for my elemental shaman. I think it looks fantastic. :)

Square Enix announces Final Fantasy 10 remake for PS Vita - and PS3

Sep 14th 2011 1:22AM (Joystiq)
10 was the last Final Fantasy that I really liked. My love for the series faded away almost completely over the years since. So while it's bizarre that 10 is getting re-released before the one that people have been clamoring for for about a decade, I still think I'd like to revisit the world of Spira. Hopefully it won't be $60.

Mufasa, you mentioned you don't like the way gloves look on your character. I don't know what armor type you wear, but if it's mail, check out these Protector Gauntlets. http://www.wowhead.com/item=14792#.

I don't like the excuse that if it were possible to make items look like your legendaries, then everyone would have the same weapons. I think that excuse is dumb because that's the problem that transmogrification FIXES, not causes. People already use the same weapons at the end game. Not everyone has a legendary, not everyone is planning to run out and get one, and not everyone who does or will is going to be able to Mog it to their current weapon if it's not exactly the right type. But those who did put in the time and had the great luck to get a legendary should be able to display their trophy if they feel it's worth displaying. Just like anyone who has put in the effort or even just time and gotten something they really wanted; when I eventually get that Fiery Warhorse from Karazhan, I plan to ride it around. Not keep it in void storage.

@Razion
I should point out that your argent tournament stuff isn't deleted. When I transferred to horde, it was all gone and I had to start over, but when I transferred back, it was all still there, waiting for me.

Ubisoft says always-on DRM is 'a success,' fans are confused

Jul 30th 2011 3:33PM (Joystiq)
My brother got Assassin's Creed 2 bundled with a video card and never got around to playing it. When I saw he had the game, I said he should play it because it's totally awesome. Then I remembered that the PC version had this DRM, so added that he probably should still pirate the game to play it, just so he wouldn't have any issues. Even though he had a LEGITIMATE copy right there IN HIS HANDS that he got for FREE with his video card.

After I said that out loud, the irony struck me and I laughed and laughed at how preposterously upside-down and ridiculous the situation was and how stupid it was for anyone to think this DRM would be a good idea in any way. IT'S MADNESS!

I, too, stopped running heroics shortly after Cataclysm, because they took hours and hours to finish after dozens of wipes. They felt exactly like progression raiding does, and that was just too much. On the day of 4.2, the need for valor points pushed me into a Zandalari heroic; I hoped that after all this time, people would be better geared and more knowledgeable. Turns out they were. Unfortunately, it still took well over two hours and four wipes to get it done. I was bored out of my mind again. I don't want a little heroic to take two and a half hours, I want it to take a half hour or forty-five minutes. They're designed to be done once a day; to not be a big commitment of time, skill and determination. To not be a test of patience. An excuse for Blizzard to reward you with some points and gold to give you that good feeling and keep you active and from unsubscribing, just like any daily quest hub: It doesn't take you two hours and multiple wipes to get through any given day's Molten Front dailies! That would be really boring. I wouldn't bother to do them. Would you?

I've been playing this game on and off since launch, and say what you will about Wrath of the Lich King, but at no other point in this game's life have I thought doing dungeons was fun. I miss those days. I often even had it in me to do MORE than one dungeon a day. And to do dungeons on my ALTS, too! Man, has that really turned around.
