I've been a sucker for exploration since early on in playing WoW (all the way back to when there where just 1 task bar with like 8 panels). This was one of the gems I found, my friends never quite shared my excitement for such things.
When Blizzard removed wall-walking alot of exploration was cut short, or had to be reevaluated (such as the "Ironforge Airport") I had said at the time that Blizzard would do well for those of us who like to explore to hide small gems with valid (yet hidden) paths in their Disney-esque game world.
Looks like I'll have to make a trip back there before the new expansion, and maybe hunt down a few of the other places I've not seen in ages or never got to see.
Because there are alot of people who will do stuff like only buy the $15 CoD MW2 maps, but if you're buy points or PSN cards for it, you're limited to $20 or $50. If you bought just the DLC, you'd pay your $15 and be done with it.
This is what worries me about this type of thing...
1) Price Matching comes out of the markup on the games, which isn't as much as people think, EB Games used to price match, but had to stop because Circuit City would pump out new releases at less than cost (usually with minimal quantities).
2) It won't effect the Gamestop customers who have the edge card... that 54.99 game saves an additional 5.50 off it's price with it and won't be factored into the price matching, then there are the Buy 2 Get 1 sales that GameStop has gone nuts with this year.
In the end, Best Buy is the only one who's really gonna be hurt by this, and maybe some of the smaller indie stores who will sell even less new stuff themselves.
The GameStop procedure manual has what items are taxed out of those cards and which ones aren't, have them look it up and fix it... their computer is setup wrong and needs to be fixed. For a short while their software changed and it kept marking those items as taxed.
PN04... what the hell are you talking about? Buying up games locally so they can horde it? All stock comes from the suppliers via the Gamestop warehouses in Texas and Tenn. (I believe)... the used product comes from trade-ins and new games that are retired to used. Sounds like you're angry at the other guys for not ordering enough of the rarer titles, or maybe you just need to preorder the stuff you want so whatever store your order it from knows you want it. As far as exclusive deals... it's the publishers that set those up or at the very least agree to them.
The above comment about unsuspecting people getting thrown off is part of what I thought about when I saw it, PvE servers are immune unless you want to be part of it, but PvP servers... I've gotten ganked both on the docks and on the boat there.
There are a couple of videos of this type of thing happening in the great white north, landing people not safely on a boat, but dropping them in deep water to die slowly.
Saw the new version at my local GameStop the other day. They've made the new one a bit bigger, it's fatter around the joystick part and added some rubber grips to it.
Looking at the other photos, Krystalle, you could have shot photos in the store without any real problesm... oh well. Good job though, was fun to see the local coverage.
There are a couple of reasons to pre-install, besides the load times (which on some games in the long run will shave quite a bit of time (think of a game like Oblivion or Fallout 3 where you have load screens when you zone, each one should be a bit quicker)...
The additional reasons to do this are noise from the drive, multi-disk games, and read errors on DVDs (as people have already said), as well as saved wear-and-tear on the DVD drive itself (my 360 died before GTA IV not by red-ring but by a DVD drive that stopped reading.
PS3 does the installs because it's easier than either loading multiple copies of data on the disk (as Bethesda has said they do) or micro-managing the data locations on the disk so the drive doesn't have to keep changing speed for reads. DVDs don't suffer from that design issue (search for it, there is an article on Joystiq that explains it in detail).
