Lumines Live multiplayer blocked by micropayments [update 1]

Jun 20th 2006 7:22PM (Joystiq)
The microtransaction I'm looking for is the one that lets me pay to NOT have crappy WB music like Madonna in the game, be it by selling me the Japanese soundtrack or whatever. The soundtrack to the original Lumines was one of the high points of the gmae for me, so seeing it get whored out to radio-friendly US pop just kinda' sucks.

Back to the topic on hand- I've paid for several Live Arcade titles and have gone online with exactly ZERO of them. Street Fighter may be my one exception, but given a choice to pay later for a component I may not want or paying more now for something I may never use, I think I vote for the former.

Lumines Live to hit Xbox Live Arcade

Great, a fantastic game neutered of what (to some of its' fans) was close to half of its' charm. I LIKED the japanese soundtrack. I hope we can turn the soundtrack off or choose something besides the latest crap Madonna single, because it just looks like great Lumines "now with added suck" at this point.

once again common sense rears itself up in the face of unabashed fanboy bashing and is ignored as the rantings of a madman. people don't want to believe that something they think they're expected to hate has actual usefulness or even desireability- it deflates the e-penis to interject fact into a realm better occupied by speculation and outright misinformation.

#2 , I commend you for being standing alone against the tanks of internet idiocy, if only we had more of your gumption.

There is no online co-op of the main single-player campaign. The online co-op missions are different. That being said, they're still cool and make a second game, basically, but the poster was correct about the campaign part.

I agree with all the love this game is getting. I had only glancing contact with previous games in this series, and nothing ever compelled me to invest any time beyond the briefest of inspections. GRAW is different, it ups the action just enough, and it definitely delivers on graphics. I had some home network issues that prevented me from sampling the Live goodies last night, but it was fun enough to set up a solo elimination match and attempt to take on 32 skilled bots with only 3 respawns.

If I had to gripe, it would be just a tiny bitch about being crouched in a trench and having my squadmates standing bolt upright in the middle of a damn firefight. At least they were "smart" enough to fight back, I just wish they'd follow suit and crouch or hunker down.
