New, hard-hitting Tomb Raider images posted by Game Informer

@Levi

Couldn't agree more, half of the fun of those games was exploring places and looking at the environment not knowing what's next. The blocky controls actually added a giant element to it because you had to calculate everything, and when you're being shot at, hear tigers below you and have to make a calculated jump in a short amount of time or you fall to death it gets pretty intense. It didn't automatically load you back five seconds from the jump either, you had to load game, so any progress you've made since using the last save point was lost.

Immersion was completely lost in the new games, which actually was a backlash to too much immersion in Angel of Darkness I guess, but they became corridor type levels, simple, forgiving jump puzzles, scripted environment puzzles, terribly cliche boss battles, just all charm that the originals had was completely gone and replaced with toon versions of it.

Which is interesting, because they were still good games, but to what level it doesn't even compare. I guess they're pretty hard games to get into now if you're not used to adventure games but for there time they were groundbreaking. Probably the first time I felt immersion in any video game, at least to that level, actually wrote walkthroughs for the first and third games because they took a lot of thought to complete.

Anyway, don't see many people that agree with that perspective around the internet, quite refreshing.

Alice: Madness Returns with a new TGS trailer

I definitely wouldn't go as far as to say Lewis Caroll was a pedophile, the fact that he was obsessed with a neighbor girl named Alice is a complete fabrication, he was definitely close to a lot of women in their teens but during the Victorian era for which he was alive this was widely accepted and I doubt anything sexual came about it.

He was definitely doing some gnarly psychedelics though.

CESA: 5.2 million illegal downloads of Dissidia: Final Fantasy in Japan

Perhaps it is increased sales of the PSP units but here is the thing, around the world there are 59 million different units out, that's almost as much as the 360 and PS3 combined. Yet launch games, like Wipeout Pure, have better first week sales than most that come out right now. I don't know if anyone pirated on the PSP back in the day that remembers when you needed GTA: LCS to access the flash of the system, but when that crack came out, it became the greatest game sold on the system, that was the spike for it. Same thing happened to Lumines, as soon as a crack got released it nearly doubled in units sold. Hell right now, when a big game comes out (Grand Tourismo as an example) there are 500k different seeds for it on demonoid, far more than day one sales. Those that don't think piracy effects the PSP are blind, that is what killed the Dreamcast, it's what's killing PC right now and it's what hurt the PSP so badly software wise. The lack of titles that you see are a completely direct result of it, it might not be you or any other decent pirates who supposedly pay for the game that they got for free afterwords, but the millions of people who don't know that much about tech or could care otherwise who have figured it out either through the internet or their friends, they are losing the software companies money. Then when you go to the European markets and even Japan, piracy is a huge blackmarket business over there, and the easier the system is accessible to it, the more likely it'll be effected.

I haven't read the graphic novel and I honestly thought it was the best superhero film I've seen, everything was perfectly understandable, but I could see how people can view it as a let down considering the trailers showed it as an action film, and it actually had a plot to it.

Player sues Sony after being banned from PlayStation Network

The Constitution doesn't grant you any freedom, it limits the government, just as much, by banning this guy, Sony is exercising it's first amendment rights.
