Street Fighter II shoryukens XBLA Wednesdays

Too bad Nintendo still has exclusive rights to their superior D-pad. Since Live is the perfect platform for this game, it's a shame the experience is lessened by a 20 year old copyright. Isn't there a SNES controller/USB converter shouth?

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was terrible. There is but one FPS that has ever worked on a console, and that is the glorious Goldeneye (N64 nath, not that other crap).

Vote now for G-Phoria 2006

The purpose of these award shows is - and has always been - to promote your product and your particular industry as a whole, whether it concernes motion pictures or music (and/or porn). The fact that the shows themselves have become so popular that they more or less market and run themselves rather than the actual medium they supposedly represent, merely shows how rediculously effective they are as a marketing tool. Therefore, it seems highly likely that such a show targeting video games as a medium will at some point be bossible as the medium itself expands and "matures".

The problem, in my opinion, lies in the purpose of holding these ceremonies. The whole point is to reach a wider audience, thus expanding the market. Sadly, we as a self proclaimed community are not a part of the target audience. We will continue to buy video games for the rest of our lives, no matter how many crappy weekday afternoon TV-shows the twats at G4 regurgitate in our direction. The target audience is, as always, the profitable audience; american middle class teenage *brats* whose parents have too little time and too much money to spend on their kids. The profitable demographic will always shape the market according to their demands, and what they demand IS "the lame, made for mainstream, disingenuous MTV-like award show" that G4 were so *noble* to scrap. An award show aimed at 25-45 year old males hosted by CliffyB featuring scetches with John Romero and Will Wright written by Kevin Smith will sadly never see the light of day.

EA will do to video games what MTV did to rock 'n roll.
Sad.

You may rise, Sir Shiggy

I'd say Meier and Kojima. Never did like Molineux's games. Well... slapping a giant cow around untill it takes an equally giant dump on someone's roof is fun... naturally. Otherwise. meh.
