Sony goes bling with new Champagne Gold [Update 1]

Jan 10th 2007 3:05PM (Joystiq Playstation)
You know, having the European choice of colours is not better than just black. White and pink are just not good looking on the system (IMHO, at least), I'd rather not have them try to make it look like some kind of fashion accessoir.

Toshiba may hit up Sony for cash after battery fiasco

Oct 16th 2006 4:52AM (Engadget)
I sure hope that "money changes hands", I'd like an example for future battery manufacturers so they'll remember to go for quality. The idea that one of Sony's little bombs could burn a hole into my beloved computer (or any of my body parts for that matter) does not sit right with me.

And yes, I had to take part in the recall program.

They do this for the DS in Germany. Very nice. :)

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl: Return of the Friend Codes

Jul 13th 2006 2:53PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Get rid of Friend Codes? Whose dumb idea is that? The are the only way which guarantees that you can have a game without cheaters.

In Metroid Prime Hunters f.ex. with those darn exploits running rampant, playing with "Friends" and "Rivals" lets you choose your opponents. And by making "Rivals" of those strangers you like / who don't cheat you can build a community of fun people to play with.

What's to get rid of?

Sorry, MacTel owners: Windows Vista won't support EFI

Mar 10th 2006 10:36AM (Engadget)
#18: Regardless of how you feel about the matter, stating Vista won't support EFI is simply not true.

And to your argument: Remember that users do upgrade their OS by buying a new PC. The PC I bought LAST YEAR is a 64bit capable machine, and now that Intel caught up to AMD, I don't think even the average Joe will buy a new 32bit only machine.

And even if he would, he would not care if his computer boots through BIOS or EFI. And if the user doesn't care, why should MS?

Sorry, MacTel owners: Windows Vista won't support EFI

Oh no, Engadget, not you, too: Vista supports EFI.

The crippled 32-bit version of Vista won't support the odd mac-only combination of 32-bit chips, and EFI. The 64-bit version of Vista, will support the standard configuration of 64-bit chips, and EFI, just like XP 64 already does.

Please, check your facts before posting a story. Thanks.
