Le Mans 2010: To finish first, first you must finish
Jun 13th 2010 10:07PM (Autoblog)The 908 HDi, with flames coming out of the exhause, again conjecture, but the turbo's may have packed up and suffered seal failures. As everyone says, running flat out for the entire 24 hours could have been too much for them, they let go, = blown turbos and flames.
Unfortunately, we'll probably never hear what really happened on either team, but the failures were systematic, so they definitely weren't freak accidents.
Firm considers class action over Xbox Live bannings
Nov 19th 2009 3:24PM (Joystiq)Analyze why the bannings occurred in the first place:
Modded consoles capable of running pirated (possibly unsigned/modded) games.
The player profile didn’t cause the problem, the modded console did. By removing the ability to get into the online service with the modded console, the problem as defined is solved and the LIVE TOU is preserved.
No big conspiracy here, methinks...
Firm considers class action over Xbox Live bannings
Nov 19th 2009 2:51PM (Joystiq)@Biohazard,
>>I agree with what you're saying, but we all know someone who doesn't give a >>flying turd about the rules and just press "agree", I just feel more could be done >>to stress the importance of them.
Like what? Sending a Microsoft representative to a persons house to make sure they read the TOU and only then allow them to hit accept? Or maybe using the long-ago-abandoned blink html tag?
I don't feel terribly compelled to make exceptions or have special treatment for the typical idiot who won’t take a minute to read and understand a legally binding agreement before they agree to it. I think you’re making too many excuses for people who aren’t willing to take responsibility for their actions, and judging by the responses you've been getting I don't seem to be the only one.
Firm considers class action over Xbox Live bannings
Nov 19th 2009 2:23PM (Joystiq)All users of Xbox LIVE agree to the TOU. By accepting said TOU they ARE aware of Microsoft's stance on them [specifically modders]:
section 16 of Xbox LIVE Games for Windows LIVE Terms of Use
...
Microsoft reserves complete and sole discretion with respect to the operation of the Service. Microsoft may, among other things: (a) restrict or limit access to the Service; (b) retrieve information from the original Xbox, Xbox 360 console, personal computer, and any connected peripheral device used to log onto the Service as necessary to operate and protect the security of the Service, and to enforce this contract; and (c) upgrade, modify, withdraw, suspend, or discontinue any functionality or feature of the Service, any game or other content available or accessible through the Service, or any hardware or software associated with the Service or with an original Xbox or Xbox 360 console, or personal computer, from time to time without notice, which may involve the automatic download of related software directly to your original Xbox, Xbox 360 console, or personal computer, including software that prevents you from accessing the Service, playing pirated games, or using unauthorized hardware peripheral devices.
Analyst: Gears 2 wins big in Nov, 360 sales soar
Dec 8th 2008 4:17PM (Joystiq Xbox)The content of the 'article' is still questionable, regardless of how many times you post it. Please stop trying to up your blog's hit count.
Sony 'disappointed' by FFXIII for 360 announcement
Jul 16th 2008 5:14PM (Joystiq)This time around the xbox360 is becoming the platform with deep 3rd party support. Can't say if this is because the 360 is the lowest-common-denominator system (games can be leveraged on 360 AND PS3) or if the 1st to market platform of XX million consoles is critical mass for 3rd parties. Overall though, it is a dramatic change from last cycle.

Happy Day of the Ninja: new NG2 video and screens
Dec 5th 2007 6:30PM (Joystiq Xbox)to answer your question you kinda have to define why do you play video games in the first place. People (obviously) game for different reasons. Some may enjoy a well crafted story or social interaction (in whatever form the game provides) and sometimes the pleasure just comes from playing.
For me, I enjoyed the first NG on xbox when I got to the point where each battle was a matter of 'relaxing' enough to be aware of all the enemies present and being able to adapt to them to fight effectively; not just concentrating on one at a time but being able to react and juggle hits around. The fighting engine was smooth and fluid enough to make this possible.
A short answer may be (and I'm going to paraphrase and butcher a quote here):
The enjoyment of Ninja Gaiden comes not from the destination but the journey of getting there.
Sony explains why there's no BC in the 40GB PS3
Oct 6th 2007 9:27AM (Joystiq)40GB PS3 official for Europe -- no backwards compatibility, at all
Oct 5th 2007 3:35PM (Joystiq)by this time Sony has sawed off said foot, doused it with kerosine, shot it with a bazooka, then peed on it to put out the smoldering shriveled chunk of what used to be a corporate position.
All while saying: BC is a last gen feature, hence in lieu of another last gen feature: affordability, we're nixing it.
Choices, choices...
