Circuit City ad confirms 360 price drop on all models

Jul 31st 2007 5:44PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I sincerely hope this is wrong. $30 off Elite? Really Microsoft?!?! That's what you're going to do? Give me a break. I have been patiently waiting to get an XBOX Elite and this is how they are supposed to lure me in? The thing used to be $80 more than the Premium, for essentially a bigger hard drive because I don’t care about HDMI. Now, with these disproportionate price cuts, the cost difference now INcreases to $100 between premium and elite. (I wouldn't even think about the Elite if a 120 GB hard drive didn't cost 4 times what it aactually should in Microsoft land...)Shouldn’t you be dropping the more expensive sku to entice would be buyers (read: me) to spend a little more? Not to mention, like everyone has said, it’s been out for two years now! Rather disappointing if you ask me.

Analysts expecting a Xbox 360 price cut

@24

I have been trying to get a 360 for the past week (yes, I am slow to get onboard the 360 bandwagon) and found the same thing with my local Los Angeles Best Buy and Target stores being unable to order more. I sent 360fanboy.com a "tip" about it on Saturday, but they never responded or posted anything about it. Seems inevitable to me that they must be clearing the shelves for a lower priced and updated (65nm?) xbox to hit shelves this week after tomorrows conference. Here's to hoping!
