Why "should" the button be there? You could just take a pen and draw an outline of a button at the bottom if you'd like, and it would be exactly the same as if there really was a button there. No functionality has been taken away here. Personally I don't see why anyone would do anything other than tap-to-click, so the bigger trackpad is all good.
