The good and bad of iPad pricing

Feb 1st 2010 8:23PM (TUAW.com)
They charge more for $130 for a $20 chip, but I wonder if they have to do any kind of kickback to AT&T to get that unusual data plan.

Apple iPad launch day roundup: everything you need to know

It's an interesting device at a good price point. I don't have a need for it, but I can see a lot of less tech-needy people loving it. I may consider future revisions of it when additional features are added.

That was your mr nimblewick wrap-up.

MSI's 10-inch tablet launching this year at $500, patently ignoring the elephant in the room?

This joke isn't played out yet?

The Wii comparison is exactly what I've been thinking about since all the "iTampon" idiocy started. Eventually people will start referring to it as a "fad" and then just rant about it not having any "real apps."

You wouldn't choose it over a laptop. You would choose it over a netbook. And I would do that because because you can use it standing up.

WSJ: Apple tablet to have books, games, music, TV, will make sandwiches

You didn't actually say what advantage a full os would have over a mobile one in a tablet.

Unless you are looking for a complete computer replacement, which you shouldn't from a tablet, I don't see the point.

I guess I don't really see what you are looking to do on a full OS that you can't do on iphone OS with apps. Multitasking will probably be added in the next version, if indeed the tablet does run it.

It just seems like having the full OS is only going to add bloat and, shudder to think, window management.
