That'd be fair enough to settle on (the point that Epic works on engines primarily), except that in this interview and in SEVERAL past statements from Rein, he seems to take great personal distress in the Wii's success and goes quite far in attacking it and the people that are into it, sometimes subtly, sometimes venomously.

If he simply stated that they were focusing on getting affordable engine-tech to 360/PS3/PC developers and left it at that, we'd be fine. But he can never just say something as simple as that. He sounds like one of these thirteen to fifteen year old boys who just cannot mentally grasp the idea that there are people out in the world that aren't into shooters. It's his way or no way and that arrogance makes him a marked man, in my opinion.

And let's be honest, Gears of War wasn't that much different than Unreal. They pulled the camera back, added in a bunch of boring cover mechanics and that's their new franchise.

So in essence, they went back, not forward, since that's all their new game involved was moving the camera BACK.

The difference is that Nintendo has made SEVERAL other games and built SEVERAL other long lasting franchises. All Epic has made that wasn't Unreal in the last ten years is Gears of War. That's it. ONE game not in the same franchise in ten years.
