...wait, that could be pretty good too.

May 15th 2009 2:24PM (Joystiq)You had me goin' for a bit, but you honestly couldn't be dumb enough to cherry-pick your level of vehemence against assorted groups of people based on flimsy, baseless generalizations. Anyone who actually researched the seal hunt would know that the Inuit version is every bit as vicious (or humane) as the more widely known Newfoundland hunt, and both deserve the same amount of derision or support. Get some more facts next time! You almost got me!

May 15th 2009 12:01PM (Joystiq)Also, kudos for ranking Vladimir Putin higher than the Canadian government. He might be a ex-soviet bully with ties to the Russian mob who cracks down on dissent and freedoms while attempting to poison Ukranian politicians and KGB spies who he doesn't like, but damnit, he stopped Russia's sea hunt! Слава нашему великому русскому фашистской повелитель!

May 15th 2009 10:09AM (Joystiq)And your statements about the DFO are ludicrous and unfounded. "The DFO [...] denies charges that the seal hunt is not sustainable. It says Canada's seal population is "healthy and abundant" at about 5.6 million animals and triple what it was in the 1970s." Source: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/05/05/f-seal-hunt.html
But hey, I tell you what: if PETA can explain to me how to lower Newfoundland's skyrocketing unemployment rate (15% in areas with the most jobs) and how the residents are supposed to recover the missing one-third of their annual income from stopping the seal hunt, then I'll excuse their rhetoric -- though not their tactics. Sorry, but any organization that would compare a six-person massacre in British Columbia to what happens to a chicken when it becomes a KFC Snack Wrapper is utterly incorrigible.
