I suppose I can see why they want to do this. I'm not a big enough fan of racing games to buy but enjoy playing one from time to time, so I just download the demos and keep the ones I enjoy on my PS3, the one or two tracks each demo comes with keeps me busy for a while, but I never actually go out and buy the game. Same thing with fighting games.

Am I the only one who thinks trophies are the most useless thing ever? I have yet to get excited about a trophy.

no surprises here, its an RPG and there are almost none on the ps3 so RPG fans are going to be getting whatever they can.

Well to be honest I dont use my ps3 that much. I get games here and there but the whole reason i got a ps3 was for rpgs, playstation and ps2 always had the largest rpg library so it just seemed like the right choice to get a ps3. Sadly to say there are nearly no rpgs out, (yes I have fallout, but im talking jrpgs). Sometimes I even think I should have gotten a *gasp* 360. I know, shun me now. I have faith that some good rpgs are on the way, but then again they have been just over the horizon since the ps3 launched but still nothing yet. I will say tho, that even though I have pondered buying a 360 to sit alongside my ps3 I havent because of the fee for xbox live. I dunno, i cant seem to get myself to pay for somthing that sony doles out for free.

I agree with you on the rental part. I wont be shocked if we dont see HD downloads as common place for a while. Im sure sony would rather you go buy the bluray if you want HD, they need to increase that market share.

why are trophies such a big deal? I'm not even trying to be mean, I really want to know what all the fuss is about. Personally I think trophies has to be one of the dumbest concepts ever, same thing with the gamer score on the 360, I just dont get it i guess.

thats the key i got sent for the home beta, havent used it, not sure if its linked to my psn id, but if they aren't have at it. I have no plans of using home so the invite might as well be put to good use.

Just bring FFVII to the PSN already. I had my hopes up that it would come out with the release of crisis core on the psp but no such luck. I want to play it again but would rather give 10-20 dollars to square for a digital copy over spending 50+ to a reseller on amazon.

Yeah, I guess it could misrepresent what gamers are like, but escaping reality is why I play games. And no, this isn't a emo "I hate my life" response either. My life just isn't all that exciting, most peoples aren't. I sleep, eat, go to work, blah blah blah. But when I turn on my ps3 I can do/be whatever I want. Its great.

a component connection will always look better than composite. the connection splits the colors so it just looks better on the tv instead of everything being mashed together in the same video signal. is it going to be a jaw dropping difference? no, but better? yes. if you want jaw dropping go from a SDTV to a HDTV connected to your ps3 via HDMI. Now thats an improvement, although an expensive one.
