@Ryn : At first I wasn't sure what you meant because it didn't seem like the company was pushing any political viewpoint..but then I thought about the question: What figure has made the most "positive impact". Most of the candidates really had little national exposure before they joined the presidential race, and the only one who really did (Gingrich) is before the time of most Maple players. So in a sense the poll *is* kind of rigged. Maplestory is owned by a S Korean company like most MMOs are. That means that they've got a vested interest in keeping Obama in office. He's been just as unwilling to demand fair trade with Asia as Bush was; he props up foreign banks with American tax dollars. What developed export-driven country *wouldn't* want him in office? A very conservative president of *any* party might start pushing for other countries to stop taxing and banning American imports under threat of doing the same to THEIR exports. The new prez might decide we don't need to have troops in the DMZ (and in truth, S Korea is strong enough to hold off the North until the US Navy could arrive to deliver a punishing blow). Bottom line? S Korea and other nations want to know how young, impressionable Americans swing politically. If they can steer them toward what seems like the most beneficial choice for their own nation, they'll do it any way they can. This isn't a new thing, either: Russian and Chinese agents were largely responsible for organizing the Vietnam protest movement.

@DarkWalker : most other developers *do* realize it. CCP is finally catching up to them. Now if they'd just make something other than piracy (or working FOR pirates) worthwhile, they might have a game that could draw in more users than Lego World.

@(Unverified) : except that it takes time to level up to the point you can effectively be a griefer. Sure, a mid-level guy can spread havoc in the newb areas..as long as those areas aren't also where the bank is, in which case tons of high-levs will be around to use the griefer as a punching bag. Bottom line? Spending two days leveling for fifteen minutes of sweaty-palmed a-hole enjoyment probably won't seem too appealing to most scumbags.

@redavni : exactly. I won't play a WoW clone that doesn't feature click-to-move..specifically "move to NPC" which is a huge sanity saver. Unless I'm in maneuvering in tight quarters, the rest of the time I'm on auto-run.

@(Unverified) : yeah, like an EVE Online clone that's actually accessible to new players and which doesn't amount to a second job.

@psycros : yes, I realize it says there's a single player campaign but I never play RTS campaigns - its skirmish or nothing for me, preferably co-op against an AI and only via LAN. A game that lacks a skirmish or "quick play" mode, or lacks any LAN support is worthless to me.
